Dakota Johnson Poses In Blonde Hair For Marilyn Monroe Character Transformation In 'Flesh Impact' Trailer
The stylish actress is back at it on the silver screen, getting ready to debut a new film with one of the most legendary Hollywood stars.
This week, on Tuesday, July 28th, the first teaser images for Flesh Impact were released, an upcoming short film directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal that's set to make its film festival debut on Marilyn's 100th birthday. The story follows the iconic blonde bombshell, and reportedly will create a version of what her life could've looked like if she had lived longer, not passing away at the age of 36 in 1962. It also stars 93-year-old Ellen Burstyn, who will portray the elderly version of Marilyn, and will reportedly only be 17 minutes long.
In the teaser photos, Dakota can be seen wearing a blonde wig that's styled in the Gentlemen Prefer Blondes star's signature way, short with voluminous curls. With a concerned expression on her face, her look is also complete with the beauty mark Marilyn had between her lip and cheek. It's certainly a much different style for the 36-year-old, who is known for rocking long, dark brunette hair.

Social Media Users React To Dakota's Marilyn Photos & The Short Film's Casting
After the announcement for the short film, which is slated to premiere at the Venice Film Festival this year, which takes place from September 2nd through the 22nd, was shared on social media, it didn't take long for users to begin chiming in with their opinions.
There were a lot of mixed reactions shared on various social media platforms, as while there were some users who expressed excitement for both the short film and its casting, others were strongly opposed to both. In addition to labeling the reimagining of Marilyn Monroe's tragic story as "overdone," there were numerous users who were not into the idea of Dakota playing the famous woman, due to her acting and what they found to be a lack of resemblance.
"Dakota Johnson looks nothing like her," commented an Instagram user. "No matter how much hair and makeup they try, it's not even an iota of Marilyn. But Burstyn? Yes, she's perfect."
"Dakota Johnson doesn't contain even an OUNCE of the magic Marilyn possessed," wrote another.
"The Burstyn part is interesting, but Dakota Johnson could not have been the first choice for a young Marilyn," a user suspected.
"Marilyn Monroe getting overdone," wrote one user, as another added, "Let the iconic woman rest in peace, no one can look like her."
"There's no resemblance at all," commented a user.
