President Donald Trump is full of controversial things to say these days, and he’s even beginning to stir up some trouble involving the 2026 Winter Olympics. And Whoopi Goldberg is not having it.
The View co-host recently slammed the president after he hurled insults at Olympic athletes like Hunter Hess, who haven’t been showing him support. Whoopi went on air to express her disgust with Trump’s comments, why she thought they were wrong, and even decided to throw a few jabs back at him herself. Read more about the president’s controversial statements and how Whoop responded below.

Donald Trump Calls Olympic Athlete Hunter Hess A 'Loser' For Not Being An Avid Supporter
It's no secret that the president is big into having a loyal fanbase and strongly defensive when he hears about those who not only don't back him but also disagree with him. As the Winter Olympics are in full swing, there have been a lot of headline-making moments involving victories, falls, viral videos, etc. However, one of the latest head-turning incidents was when Team USA skier Hunter Hess was asked how it feels to be representing America while there's a lot of turmoil going on back at home between ICE raids and other debated issues.
"It brings up mixed emotions to represent the U.S. right now, I think. It's a little hard," Hess responded. "There's obviously a lot going on that I'm not the biggest fan of, and I think a lot of people aren't."
Once the 79-year-old president found out about the athlete's comments, he went onto Truth Social, his unique social media platform, to slam him, going as far as to call him a "loser" and doubt his abilities as an Olympian.
"U.S. Olympic Skier, Hunter Hess, a real Loser, says he doesn't represent his Country in the current Winter Olympics," he wrote this past Sunday. "If that's the case, he shouldn't have tried out for the Team, and it's too bad he's on it. Very hard to root for someone like this."

Whoopi Goldberg Responds To Trump's Post On 'The View'
Although the Apprentice star has had a lot of feuds with other celebrities, either in person or online, one of the notable ones has been between him and media personality Whoopi Goldberg, who have been making back-and-forth jabs at each other on their platforms since around 2014. After the NYC real estate mogul posted his feelings towards the Olympic skier, during Monday's episode of The View, the Sister Act actress decided to address them, expressing how she strongly disagreed and how she felt it wasn't fair for the athlete.
"The problem for me is people at home who are calling them losers and all these kinds of things," she began, while addressing the Olympian and other Team USA competitors. "Here's the issue: You know, they are entitled to feel how they feel. That is their right. And they are saying, 'I don't agree with everything.' It's like when I was a kid, people said, 'My country right or wrong.' No, if you're wrong, you're wrong. And people are going to say you're wrong," she spilled. "So, you know, all these people who are criticizing these folks, saying, 'Stop talking' - because in this country, we are still allowed. We are still allowed. It has not been outlawed. They can threaten it, but they haven't stopped it."
Then, she decided to throw in some shade for the president, poking fun at his size and his likely inability to compete in such intense games.
"So stop calling people losers and maybe get out and do a little exercise, and maybe you can compete with them," she added.
When fans watched Whoopi's response on social media, it didn't take long for many of them to cheer her on and applaud what she said.
"Beautifully said," responded a viewer on YouTube.
"Imagine any other president in the history of this country calling American Olympians losers," added another.
