Serena Williams Returns To Tennis For Wimbledon 2026
Over the last four years, the world of professional, competitive tennis has missed one of its biggest icons, the one and only Serena Williams.
The legendary athlete had been taking a long break that lasted about four years, as in 2022, she decided to take time off so she could focus on her family, in particular, parenting her two young daughters, Alexis and Adira, and giving birth to her youngest in 2023. Since then, she's taken on a variety of side projects and attended other highly publicized events like the Met Gala and more.
On Tuesday, she made her grand return to the game at Wimbledon in London, where she wowed the crowds while winning matches at Queen's Club alongside her partner, Victoria Mboko. Stepping out in a white athletic top and pink tennis skirt, fans cheered her on as she showed off her impressive skills once again. In interviews after the successful day of playing, the mom-of-two told media outlets that she "got tired of sitting at home."
"My kids are out of school for the summer, so why not?" she added.

During her hiatus, the athlete underwent a 35-lb weight loss, on a mission to lose excess baby weight she gained during her second pregnancy and get back into shape.
