Russell Crowe Flaunts His Weight Loss At The French Open

This month, games officially kicked off for the 2026 French Open, one of the world's four Grand Slam tennis tournaments that takes place in Paris, France. The games often garner attention from a lot of celebrities from around the world, who often dress to the nines to enjoy a few games from the stands.

On Day One, the 62-year-old actor sat in the crowd alongside his 44-year-old girlfriend, Britney Theriot. He wore a dapper dark blue suit with a light grey vest underneath and a light blue and while polka dotted tie. His hair was long and gelled back in the front, and he was sporting a thick, gray beard.

Though he and Britney were all smiles in the stands, his trip wasn't entirely pleasant, as he had a viral confrontation with autograph-seekers and paparazzi outside his French hotel. However, aside from that, other headlines have come out about how slimmed down he looks, as he's reportedly lost 55 pounds since making lifestyle changes in the last three years.

How Cutting Out Alcohol  & Taking Injections Helped Russell Lose Weight

Like many actors, the Australian performer has had to transform his body numerous times to film roles. After being on the heavier side, he admitted on Joe Rogan's podcast in 2024 that after finishing filming the historical drama Nuremberg, he began shedding pounds.

One of the first things he did was cut out drinking excess amounts of alcohol, which were not only contributing to his weight problem, but also issues with inflammation and more.

"I'm a big proponent for having a drink – it's my cultural heritage, and as a working-class man, it's my [expletive] right, Joe," he told the podcast host. "But as you get older, there are certain things you start to learn about your capacities. If I decide to have a glass of wine with dinner, it's going to be a really nice wine. I try not to have casual drinks now. [As in] having a drink for the sake of it."

Additionally, he credited the Ways2Well platform, a treatment plan that focuses on whole-body wellness, offering services like stem cell therapy, peptide therapy, and more. Calling them "a great call," he received treatments and injections that helped previous injuries from filming and lowered inflammation in his body, therefore making it easier for him to start exercising again.

"I'm not really across the science, but the real benefit I'm getting from these into my shoulders, my knees, and also IVs, is that it's calmed down my body's inflammation," he added. "I think we talked before about just how many old injuries I carry, and how the injuries in my shoulders are deeply arthritic. We can now see in an ultrasound that a year ago I had big thick bands of arthritis, and now it's lessened by about 70 percent. In one area of my right shoulder, probably by about 90 percent. It's all going good, and I'm just feeling the musculature starting to build and everything."
