Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have had a lot of drama regarding their Netflix partnership and deals, but it looks like the streaming platform hasn’t completely given up on them.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are now slated to be producers on a team that’s creating a movie based on the war memoir, No Way Out. The news didn’t come long after reports that not only was the couple beginning to “burn through” some of their savings and were seeking other sources of income, but also that the famous streaming platform had dropped their partnership with Meghan’s lifestyle brand and more. Read more about their new project and social media’s reaction to it below.

Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Slated To Produce A War Film With Netflix
Once Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left the royal family and stepped down from their official duties, moving from the UK to California in 2020, a lot of people were confused as to what their next career move would be.
However, not long after leaving and doing a bombshell interview here and there, they teamed up with Netflix, signing a $100M contract to create content for them, beginning with their documentary, Harry & Meghan, which explored their love story, what led them to leave royal life, and how they went about doing it. Then came the former actress's at-home lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, which didn't get the most rave reviews.
Despite it all, Deadline recently revealed that the couple's media production company, Archewell, was going to produce an upcoming film made by the streaming platform. The film is an adaptation of the war-themed memoir, No Way Out: The Searing True Story of Men Under Siege. The story, written by Major Adam Jowett, follows a unit of rangers who worked in 2006 during the war in Afghanistan.

Social Media Reacts To Harry & Meghan's Producing News
The project is said to be one that's very important to the controversial couple, especially since the story resonates with Prince Harry, particularly because he was deployed twice on active service in Afghanistan. However, it's still surprising in general that his and Meghan's company will be producing the project for Netflix, considering the latest drama surrounding their business relationship.
Following poor reviews for With Love, Meghan, the show was reportedly canceled before a third season could be announced, and the couple's $100M contract was not renewed. Additionally, Netflix ended its partnership with the Duchess's brand, As Ever, which led many to believe there was tension between them and the massive platform. Now, some social media users are skeptical of this new project even taking off.
"The cringe must go on," responded an X user.
One user wrote it was interesting that Harry and Meghan were given a new production to work on "despite their $100M deal collapsing," and another compared the situation to "throwing spaghetti at the wall [and] seeing what sticks."
"If there's an actual project, they are piggybacking," added a user. "Meghan misses Netflix being at her beck and call."
One angry user called Harry and Meghan "two desperate Hollywood grifters," with another adding, "Let's see if it ever gets off the ground or is completed."
