Wedding guest beauty is having a major moment this summer, and one hairstyle is quickly becoming the season’s standout trend. Dubbed “Love Layers,” the romantic haircut recently caught everyone’s attention after Gigi Hadid debuted the look while attending Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding. Created by celebrity hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos, the flattering cut is already being hailed as an updated take on the classic ’90s C-cut—and it’s easy to see why.
Soft, voluminous, and incredibly face-framing, Love Layers deliver movement without sacrificing length, making them a perfect option for anyone looking to refresh their look before wedding season.

What Are Love Layers?
According to Giannetos, Love Layers are a modern version of the popular C-cut, designed to create the illusion of a heart-shaped silhouette.
“I wanted to create the updated version of the C-cut, giving this evening to Gigi some Love Layers (aka heart shape layers),” he shared.
Unlike traditional long layers that begin higher up, Love Layers start just below the chin and gradually blend toward the ends of the hair. Combined with volume at the crown and narrower ends, the result is a soft heart shape that beautifully frames the face.
“It creates basically an illusion of heart shape layers,” Giannetos explained. “Volume on the top and more narrow at the bottom.”
The haircut also offers another major benefit: it naturally enhances facial structure.
“In this case you can create an illusion of contour with the haircut so the face looks more structured,” he added.
How to Ask Your Stylist for Love Layers
If you’re heading to the salon, ask for long, blended layers that begin slightly below your chin while keeping your overall length intact.
The goal isn’t choppy layers or dramatic face-framing pieces. Instead, your stylist should focus on creating fullness through the crown while allowing the ends to taper softly inward.
Giannetos also recommends wearing the haircut with a center part, which helps emphasize the balanced, heart-shaped effect.
“Always this haircut looks good with a mid part,” he says.

How to Style Love Layers at Home
The styling technique is just as important as the haircut itself. Giannetos recommends using a large round brush while blow-drying to create soft bounce and volume.
Once each section is dry, pin the hair into place while it cools. This helps the shape set and gives the layers longer-lasting lift. After removing the clips, skip the paddle brush.
Instead, gently separate the layers with your fingers before finishing with a light mist of hairspray to lock in the shape.
"A big round brush, pin the hair up till they cool down, then brush the hair with your fingers and lastly spray some hairspray until you create your heart shape Layers—your Love Layers," Giannetos advises.
Why Love Layers Are Perfect for Weddings
Love Layers strike the ideal balance between polished and effortless, making them especially well-suited for weddings and other formal occasions.
The haircut photographs beautifully from every angle thanks to its soft movement and natural volume. Whether you're wearing your hair down, adding loose waves, or pulling half of it back, the layers create dimension without looking overly styled.
They're also incredibly versatile. Love Layers complement everything from romantic gowns to sleek cocktail dresses, while their face-framing shape helps highlight makeup and statement earrings. With celebrities already embracing the trend, don't be surprised if Love Layers become one of the biggest haircut requests of the year.
