Donald Trump is nearly 80 years old, and his body is starting to show it. The public has spotted a number of physical ailments that the president has refused to address, including bruising on his hands, an angry rash on his neck, and most recently, extremely swollen ankles. But now, social media is starting to spot the side effects of aging in his movements. A video of Trump exiting Air Force One has gone viral, in which he climbs down the stairs at an impossibly slow pace. While no one’s blaming him for trying to avoid a fall, many people are asking why someone so elderly is the leader of the United States. Keep reading for more information.

Donald Trump Inches Down Air Force One Stairs

Last week, Trump was exiting Air Force One on his own, but unusually didn’t even acknowledge the paparazzi as he exited the aircraft. While usually he’s all smiles and waves, this time, the president held fast to the railing of the stairs and kept his gaze locked on the steps in front of him, seemingly pouring all his effort into avoiding a spill. Overall, he moved slowly, slower than usual, and lacked the usual energy he brings to his public appearances.

For many, both critics and supporters, this was a clear sign of the president’s old age. When he turns 80 in just over two months, he’ll be the oldest president the United States has ever had, which has prompted a lot of people to wonder if there should be an age limit on the presidency, just as there’s an age minimum.

Social Media Reactions

Across social media platforms, particularly X, users expressed their concern over the president's movements. "He looks broke," one person wrote. "I'm not gloating. I think this is a very bad sign for what is to come."

"80 soon," another pointed out. "He doesn't sleep, spending the night tweeting. Travel, events, etc. Not surprising he is spent. And terrifying for the world."

"He's moving very slowly..." agreed another. "Whether you support him or not, having him make decisions that affect millions of people while he's in this condition is a mistake."

"Let's get someone who is 40 as president," suggested another. "We don't need the White House to be an old folks' home!"

"We need age limits across the government," agreed a final user.
