Donald Trump Says He Doesn't Know 'How Long' He'll Be Around While Making A Speech At The White House

On February 23rd, the 79-year-old president made a speech for the Angel Families event held at the White House, which hosted families who lost loved ones who were killed by people who entered the U.S. illegally for a remembrance ceremony.

During the event, Trump gave a speech, where some users felt he went off on a bit of a tangent. Suddenly, he began talking about presidential assassinations, eventually asking, "I have got a lot of people gunning for me, don't I?"

The president also stated that he believed people who assassinate presidents don't typically aim for "non-consequential presidents," and considered the late Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, and himself to be "consequential presidents." At one point, he told the crowd, "I don't know how long I'll be around."

Fans React To Trump's Statement Following The Latest Mar-a-Lago Shooting Incidents

Many believe that when the Apprentice star said that he had a lot of people "gunning" for him, he was referring to the assassination attempts seemingly made on him. The day before his speech, a 21-year-old man had been gunned down at Mar-a-Lago, when it was revealed that he had intruded on the property while armed. During his campaign in 2024, another young man famously shot at him and other crowd members during a rally in Pennsylvania, and this latest incident has many concerned for the president's safety.

When clips of Trump's speech at the Angel Families event were shared on social media platforms like Instagram, internet users started commenting on what he had to say, with some concerned about the president's safety, and others believing he was being dramatic.

"Don't fall for it, people, he's no victim," commented an Instagram user.

"He seems nervous," added another.

"Wow, he's self-aware," commented a user, as another wrote, "He sounds so scared."
