Brooke Shields has been one of the biggest female celebrities in the entertainment industry for decades. Now, one of her daughters is ready for her share of the spotlight.
Recently, it was announced that her eldest daughter, Rowan Henchy, was going to star on a reality television series based on the lives of modern “nepo babies” as well as their life experiences and business ventures. Though most parents would be excited by the prospect of their child being on a TV show, in a recent interview, Brooke revealed that when she got the news about Rowan, she felt “sick to her stomach” with worry. Brooke Shields Reveals She Felt 'Sick' After Finding Out Her Daughter Rowan Would Be On A BravoTV Show
One of the pieces of celebrity culture people are really into right now is 'nepo babies,' the children of some of today's and past decades' big stars. From North West to Apple Martin, as these celebrity kids get older, people have begun paying attention as they slowly become stars themselves, sparking controversy with their already privileged status.
Now, Brooke Shields' kids are coming to the forefront, especially her eldest daughter, 23-year-old Rowan Henchy. Recently, it was announced that she would be joining the cast of Next Gen NYC, the popular Bravo TV series that follows the lives of some of today's "nepo babies." Though the show primarily focused on the children of the Real Housewives franchise women, it's branching out for its second season, with Rowan being one of the exciting new names joining the cast.
Earlier this week, the mother-daughter duo appeared on the Today Show with Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones. As the Calvin Klein icon reflected on her long career in film and television, she noted how it's not the same anymore.
"They didn't have reality shows," Brooke said. "And you were not praised for bad behavior. Bad behavior was not really the goal. And so a lot of ratings, kind of, is geared towards that."
When Jenna asked her if she was "worried" about her daughter entering the world of reality television, she responded, "Oh, I was sick to my stomach."

Brooke Calls Rowan's Decision To Be A Reality Star A' Business Choice'
Though the Pretty Baby star made her concerns over her daughter's reality TV show casting quite clear, even hinting at her not wanting Rowan to do it, she also spun the angle to make it look like an especially logical decision for her future. Instead of encouraging Rowan to be a notable star on the show, she admitted that she wanted her daughter to treat it like a proper business opportunity that could help her make more connections as she gets older and progresses with her career.
Additionally, instead of being a cast member who stirs up drama, like many reality stars do, Brooke is telling her daughter to be the 'chill' one.
"I said, 'Look, don't be a f***-up,'" she recalled. "You know? I mean, don't. Like, be the one, the voice of reason. You're gonna be fine, and if you want to parlay this - I mean, it's Bravo and Peacock - and she wants to be in broadcast journalism, and she also likes being on camera. So I said, 'See if you can translate that into another opportunity, and it's a business choice that you're making.'"
"Bad behavior is not the goal, and this should be a stepping stone for some kid," she continued. "But it's given her a lot of confidence in a way that's so nice to see."
