The movie, which was released last weekend on July 17th, has been selling out in theaters across the country. Its star-studded cast, which includes Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, and more, has been making their rounds for press interviews and photocalls. The Good Will Hunting star, Anne, and the film's director stopped by The View to film an episode that aired on Monday, July 20th.
As they chatted with the show's famous co-hosts, they discussed the inspiration behind wanting to recreate the Greek epic poem for the screen, what it was like to work with Nolan, and more. In the middle of the discussion, Whoopi Goldberg, one of the show's most notable figures, turned to Anne to praise her for her latest work, but also how her career has evolved overall over the decades.

As Whoopi continued speaking to the soon-to-be mom-of-three, it didn't take long for her eyes to visibly start welling up with tears. In fact, she almost tried to get the co-host to stop with the flattery, due to the fact that she was getting emotional.
"No, don't," she responded while covering her face.
However, the host did not listen to her and continued giving her high praise, telling her, "Yes, you need to know!"
Anne then tried to brush off her tears, telling the former comedian and the show's live audience that she "wouldn't be crying" if she weren't pregnant, to which Whoopi responded, "Well, it's something you need to know and remember."
The Oscar-winner announced her pregnancy with her third child fairly recently in an Instagram video on June 19th, 2026, just before jumping into her busy press tour for The Odyssey. Since then, fans and pop culture lovers have been buzzing about her choosing to have a baby at 43, and watching her step out onto premiere red carpets in glamorous maternity clothes.
Anne remained fairly emotional for the rest of the interview, telling Whoopi, "I don't even know what to say, thank you. You know how I feel about you."
