I love a “no makeup makeup” look, and for me, it’s never complete without a natural-looking lippie.
I can trace my love for lip products back to middle school, when my mom wasn’t exactly thrilled about me wearing makeup. My workaround was to constantly reapply sticky lip gloss in the bathroom between classes (lol). It felt like a loophole at the time, but looking back, those formulas were not doing my lips any favors. Thankfully, lip products have come a long way since then. Today’s lip oils, liners, and lipsticks are packed with skin-loving ingredients like hydrating oils, nourishing butters, and even plumping actives that actually care for your lips while making them look good. And clearly, I’m not the only one who’s obsessed. Our editors (myself included) are always on the hunt for formulas that deliver that perfect mix of hydration, color, and a little extra something.
Below, we’re rounding up the lip products we truly can’t get enough of—from juicy lip oils to classic lipsticks and everything in between. Get ready to pucker up!
Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil ($42)
I’m not typically one for a bold matte lipstick, which is why I love how this lip oil gives your lips a juicy, mirror-like shine instead. It’s infused with cherry oil, so it actually hydrates rather than just sitting on top of your lips, and over time, they look smoother and more nourished. One of the coolest parts is how it reacts to your lips’ natural pH to create a subtle, custom tint that’s unique to you.
I also have to mention the applicator. It’s oversized in the best way, which makes it super easy to swipe on the perfect amount in one go. Whether you wear it alone for a glossy look or layer it over your favorite liner, it makes your lips look and feel amazing. Definitely a splurge, but so worth it!
Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick ($37)
I’ve never met a Charlotte Tilbury product I didn’t like, so even though I don’t typically gravitate toward matte lipsticks, I trust this one. When I think “matte,” I usually picture something dry or flat—but this formula is the total opposite. It has a soft, almost cashmere-like finish that feels comfortable on your lips, thanks to nourishing ingredients like orchid extract and the brand’s signature “lipstick tree” extract.
It’s also designed with subtle 3D glow pigments, which help lips look fuller and more defined (yes, please). I like pairing it with a liner for a more sculpted look, but it’s just as pretty tapped on for a softer effect.
NARS Afterglow Lip Balm ($30)
NARS is another brand I trust implicitly, and their Afterglow Lip Balm is a perfect example of why. More than a balm, this is like a little spa treatment for my lips—they feel softer, smoother, and more hydrated every time I swipe it on.
The formula is seriously indulgent. It’s packed with a moisture-locking blend of mango seed oil, shea butter, vitamin E, and hyaluronic acid, so your lips stay cushioned and comfortable for hours. Plus, the sheer tint adds just the right hint of color, and the glossy sheen makes it feel like my lips are glowing from within. It’s the epitome of a “no makeup makeup day.”
Too Faced Lip Injection Maximum Plump Extra Strength Lip Plumper ($18 – $33)
Too Faced really went all out with this formula. It hydrates, nourishes, and visibly plumps lips both immediately and over time, so you’re getting instant results plus ongoing benefits. It’s seriously intense (definitely not for plumping rookies) but if you love that extra oomph, it’s everything. I can personally attest that my lips tingle the second I put it on, and they absolutely look fuller right away.
The study numbers speak for themselves: almost every user saw fuller, softer, and more hydrated lips after just one week! Whether you wear it solo for a subtle pout boost or layer it over your favorite lipstick for some extra drama, it delivers a visibly bigger, smoother look that’s impossible to ignore.
Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Contour Duo Lip Liner ($28)
Lip liner might just be one of my all-time favorite beauty products. I own way too many, but that’s because I love the fullness and definition it gives. Of course, when I saw Charlotte Tilbury had a dual-ended lip liner, I had to try it! And honestly, it’s worth every penny.
One side features a deeper “sculpt” shade that lets you contour and define your lips (perfect for enhancing your natural shape or overlining just a smidge), and the other is a lighter “fill” shade that blends everything out and adds soft, all-over color. The formula is creamy, super pigmented, and easy to blend, but still has that long-wear hold that keeps everything in place.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss ($23)
If my middle school self could see my makeup bag now, she would be very impressed, especially by this lip gloss. Back then, I was reapplying sticky formulas between classes, but this is the grown-up version of that obsession.
Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Lip Gloss gives you that same high-shine finish we all loved, but with a much more elevated feel. The formula is smooth, pigmented, and not overly sticky, so you get a glossy look without the discomfort. One swipe with the sponge-tip applicator delivers rich color and shine, making it perfect for when you want your lips to stand out just a bit more.
From glossy swipes to hydrating balms to bold matte finishes, the right lip product is all it takes to give your look (and your confidence) a little extra pop.
