September’s right around the corner, and I for one, am looking forward to not sweating to death!
September is such a fun transition month, because fall’s not technically ’til the 21st, but summer is definitely on its way out. Turns out that my beauty routine is going through the same identity crisis. As the air gets drier and cooler, my skin starts wanting totally different things than it did in July. All the lightweight, oil-controlling, sweat-proof products that got me through 95° days stops pulling its weight once the air changes. This obviously depends on your skin type and where you live, but mine tends to run dry, so I’m basically always chasing more hydration.
As much as I hate to admit summer’s ending, I’m leaning into it by swapping out my beauty routine for stuff that’s better suited to chillier weather. Honestly, it’s been kind of fun!
Keep scrolling for a few of the beauty products I’m welcoming with open arms.
GLO24K UNLEASH THE POWER OF GOLD Chin & Neck V-line Lifting Mask ($29.99)
As my skin starts craving more hydration this fall, I’m making the GLO24K mask part of my new self-care routine.
It’s infused with hyaluronic acid and collagen to deeply hydrate and help reduce the appearance of fine lines and sagging skin around the chin, jaw, and neck. But it also just feels like the ultimate night-in ritual, especially as we head into cozy season. I get to sit back, relax, and let the mask do its thing for 20-30 minutes while I do absolutely nothing!
Seoul Ceuticals Korean Skincare Ultra Retinol Night Serum ($19.99)
I generally cut back on the retinol in the summertime, but fall’s lower sun exposure means less risk of irritation. This serum is ideal for reintroducing retinol because it won’t make your skin freak out.
For my BeautyTok friends, it features the super buzzy ingredient snail mucin, which works wonders in repairing and smoothing skin. There’s also Korean retinol (the gold standard in anti-aging), but it’s balanced out by bakuchiol, a gentler, plant-based alternative that gives you similar anti-aging benefits without as much dryness or irritation. Lastly, there’s hyaluronic acid for added hydration, so the whole thing makes for a great fall skin reset.
Onekind Golden State Glow & Hydrate Facial Oil with Rosehip + Carrot Seed ($40.80)
My skin definitely starts to look and feel drier once colder weather hits, so I like the idea of bringing back my summer glow. Enter this luxe facial oil, which is like a tall glass of water for thirsty skin.
It’s made with a nourishing blend of 20+ natural oils and extracts, including rosehip, carrot seed, and sea buckthorn, to hydrate and brighten dull-looking skin with antioxidant support. I love that it’s rich enough to give dry skin the TLC it needs this time of year without feeling greasy or heavy. Personally, I massage a few drops into my skin at night and occasionally pair it with my gua sha for a little extra self-care.
Siia Cosmetics Ultimate Fit Concealer ($18.75)
Once fall rolls around, I need a little more coverage to fake that well-rested, fresh-faced look. This concealer makes it easy to get there without piling on a ton of makeup.
The lightweight, creamy formula delivers buildable full coverage, so you can dab on a little for everyday wear or layer it up wherever you need more help. Plus, it’s infused with Korean skincare ingredients like vitamin E and a blend of herbal extracts to support the skin barrier, so it’s pulling double duty as makeup and skincare.
DR BOTANICALS Ginger Lily Day Moisturizer 50ml ($19.89)
Seasonal changes can really mess with my skin barrier, but this lightweight moisturizer gives me the hydration I need. It also helps lock in moisture and keep daily aggressors at bay.
The formula is packed with nourishing antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids, plus olive extract to help boost your natural glow. And it gets bonus points for being 100% vegan and cruelty-free!
Youzey Paisley Cosmetic and Makeup Bag ($15)
A new season is the perfect excuse for a little beauty bag reset, and I’m taking that as my sign to grab this one. The colorful paisley bag is such a fun upgrade, and at just $15, there’s really no reason not to do it.
The structured design is great for keeping your makeup and skin essentials organized; plus, it’s lightweight and easy to pack (for all your future fall weekend getaways). Talk about an easy upgrade!
So long, sweat-proof summer. Bring on the crisp air, cozy nights, and all the fall beauty swaps!
