Usha Vance Wears A Floral Midi Dress For Her Children’s Literacy Series
The Second Lady has been using her platform to encourage children to develop a love of reading through her ‘Storytime with the Second Lady’ series. In a recent Instagram video, she sat down with professional golfer Gary Player to share a story as part of the initiative, which aims to promote childhood literacy and get young readers excited about books.
For the occasion, Usha wore a fitted black midi dress featuring a bold pink floral design across the front, with green detailing extending down the skirt.
The short-sleeved dress featured a classic, understated silhouette that subtly showed off her post-baby figure, while the vibrant poppy-inspired print added a colorful, springtime touch to the simple look. She completed the outfit with black pointed-toe flats and wore her long dark hair down and straightened.
Usha Vance Says Secret Service Protection For Her Newborn Son Is An ‘Absurdity’
While the former attorney has been embracing her role as second lady, she has also spoken candidly about some of the unusual aspects of raising a young family while her husband, JD Vance, serves as Vice President of the United States.
In an interview with The Daily Wire last month, she discussed the added security surrounding the couple’s fourth child, Alec, who was born on July 19th.
Usha explained that having Secret Service protection for a newborn is a new experience for their family, noting that their three older children did not have the same arrangement as babies. She also pointed out that Alec is rarely separated from her, making the extra security feel particularly unnecessary from her perspective.
“He has a Secret Service detail,” she admitted. “None of our newborns had that before… It’s sort of an absurdity because he’s always attached to me. He’s never anywhere far from me.”
