Gavin Newsom Says He 'Didn't Even Know' About Wine Cellar In His Home
The California governor and his wife put their home on the market on Tuesday, August 25th for $7.5M, double what they paid for it eight years ago, according to its Zillow listing. Other information from the real estate listing includes a "personal wellness oasis," resort-style pool, full-sized tennis court, and "private casita" in addition to the massive wine cellar.
At a press conference this week, Newsom was asked if he used the wine cellar to its full capacity, to which he responded, "Are you serious? Really? No, I never filled it. I didn't even know I had that much."
"I literally didn't even know," he continued, claiming that he only found out the cellar could hold that many bottles through the news.
"By the way, I put books in there," he added. "There's no wine there, it's books."
