Reese Witherspoon usually falls into the America’s Sweetheart category, but this week she’s on fans’ bad side after a recent admission in an Instagram post. Taking a moment to share her experience being a working mom while raising three children, the star was really candid, admitting that she would sometimes cry after 14-17 hour days, but a lot of fans thought this was a bit out of touch, considering many non-celebs keep the same working schedule without the huge payday. Reese Witherspoon Dishes On Motherhood

The post in question includes a number of photos of her kids throughout their lives with added captions from Reese. “Someone asked me what raising three kids and building a career in Hollywood looked like…” Reese wrote over a selfie with her three children: Ava, 25, Deacon, 21, and Tennessee, 12. “It looked like spending a lot of time in trailers together.”

“It looked like always being on the road together,” she continued. “It looked like my kids constantly giving me career advice! It looked really hard sometimes. I’d cry working 14 to 17 hours, sometimes all night long and still woke up early for carpool. I was deliriously tired. It looked like trying to say something positive about work when I got home at night. So my kids would know that my work was meaningful to me and could be fun!”

“In conclusion,” Reese finished, “even though it was challenging at times, having kids gave me perspective about what was important in life. Nothing was better than getting to come home and hug them and hear about their day!”

Out Of Touch, Much?

While certainly a sweet post in theory, some social media users thought complaining about the life of a movie star was a bit insensitive to non-celebrities. Reese herself is worth over $400M, making it hard for fans to commiserate with her about a long day on set. "Did you cry when you got that check??" one fan asked sarcastically.

"Some people do that and can't afford to feed their kids," another wrote. "Get over yourself!"

"Celebrities are so out of touch," another added.

"Try doing all of that and still being poor!" one comment reads.

"I get the idea here..." a final fan wrote. "But maybe think before you post because a lot of us are out here working that much sometimes more and are living paycheck to paycheck."
