He became vulnerable as he talked about how much he and their three children depend on her, mentioning that they wouldn’t be able to “cope” without her in their lives. Prince William Gushes Over Wife Kate Middleton & Says His Family 'Couldn't Cope' Without Her
The Prince and Princess of Wales have undoubtedly been through a lot over the last few years, primarily due to Kate's previous cancer diagnosis and journey to remission.
In 2024, after not making public appearances for months and sparking concern amongst fans, Kate revealed that during a procedure, her medical team discovered she had cancer, and she quickly began receiving treatment. During that time, she was wrapped in support from not just loyal royal family fans, but people from all around the world.
Since, fortunately, announcing that she was in remission, having completed successful treatment in 2025, she's opened up about her experience more often at certain events, as has her husband. During a recent radio interview, which he doesn't do all too often, the future king opened up about his relationship with his wife and how he's found himself appreciating her even more these days.
"She's an amazing mum, an amazing wife, and, literally, our family couldn't cope without her, so she's been absolutely stunning, brilliant," he told the hosts of Heart Breakfast on Friday. "She's been amazing. She's been through so much in the last couple of years, particularly. And yeah, she'd been looking forward to the Italian trip a lot. And so I'm really glad it went really well."
Royal Fans React To William's Comments On Social Media
After the radio interview with the 43-year-old prince aired, there were so many royal fans who not only loved hearing him talk a bit more about his personal life, but also about his strong relationship with his wife of 15 years. Though this isn't the first time either of them has talked about her cancer journey in interviews, the dad-of-three showed a rather sensitive, emotional side.
"He is so kind and caring," commented a fan on Instagram. "Love the way he talks about Catherine, you can tell he loves her so much."
"He truly loves his wife," wrote another. "Love seeing this side of him."
One user called William "rightfully proud of his wonderful life," as another commented he and Catherine "are pure soulmates."
We'll be curious to see if the happy couple decides to talk even more about their experience as a family during her illness, but for now, it appears that their fans are loving seeing a more vulnerable side of the future king as well as hearing about how much he loves the future queen.
