Ex-Prince Andrew isn’t the only controversial royal family member in the news lately, as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are also once again making headlines. And akin to Prince Harry’s disgraced uncle, it’s for all the wrong reasons!
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have come under fire following their surprise humanitarian trip to Jordan at the end of last month, as people are slamming them for turning a serious cause into little more than a photo op. Keep reading to find out more…

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Make Surprise Visit To Jordan
Prince Harry and Meghan may have intended to spotlight important issues with their Jordan trip, but some critics have argued that they have ended up promoting themselves instead, and even potentially diverted attention from the cause itself. We're getting flashbacks to the backlash they faced after volunteering following the LA fires in January 2025!
According to reports, the trip was carried out in partnership with the World Health Organization, and was aimed at supporting frontline healthcare, mental health services, and humanitarian aid efforts.
During their visit, they reportedly met with partners including World Central Kitchen and Questscope, and toured initiatives helping children and families affected by conflict. "The couple are pro-family and pro-children, and their philanthropic work reflects this value and deep-rooted care for humanity," an insider told People.
While the trip may have surprised the public, reports suggest that Buckingham Palace had been informed in advance. Some commentators have even speculated that the trip served as a convenient distraction from the ongoing scrutiny surrounding ex-Prince Andrew, who was arrested on his 66th birthday on February 19th.

Internet Reactions
As expected, the internet had a lot to say about the trip. Some people have questioned why a couple so vocal about privacy concerns would promote the trip so heavily, while others have argued that any charitable work should be done quietly. Others have branded the couple and their trip "tone deaf," which is a criticism that has followed them for many years.
"Why are Harry and Meghan there? They literally doing nothing and not providing anything by being there other than being disaster tourists," slammed one person in the comment section of a People article.
"Why don't they just go and not announce it? Just do good for the sake of it?" asked a second, adding: "Nobody cares. Do good for the sake of doing good. Don't take camera crews and video crews unless they want to have it for themselves. But, no, it's just another way to keep themselves in the public eye."

"Duchess Sophie often visits war victims in my home country the DRC. She never makes publicity of her visits. Harry & Meghan do that only to promote themselves," echoed a third, as a fourth chimed in: "Totally Tone Deaf."
"Everything they do is purely for media attention," concurred a fifth, as a sixth called it "another pretend tour." "For people so worried about their privacy & security they have no problem announcing where they are going to be for publicity and a photo op," quipped a seventh.
"I'm sorry, what exactly do they bring to the table? Some photo ops and they're out of there. It's so ridiculous," wrote an eighth, in agreement, as a ninth joked: "Sussex PR in overdrive after Prince William and Princess Catherine attended the BAFTAs."
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle's Visit Slammed On Talk TV
Royal commentator Angela Levin also weighed in on the trip, and didn't hold back when talking to Jeremy Kyle on TalkTV on February 26th. Levin criticized the couple for doing things for publicity and "for a photograph," including attending events that may also have been attended by Hamas supporters.
"I'd love your response to the fact that she and the ginger one have suddenly landed in Jordan on an unofficial two-day humanitarian visit meeting teenage victims of the wars and shaking hands. She's loving this isn't she?" Kyle asked, to which Levin replied: "Yes, and I think it's disgusting."
"I want to get extremely annoyed," Levin went on, before slamming the former Suits actress as doing things just "to try and have photographs." She added: "It's just to have photographs, but I was very surprised and upset this morning when I heard there's a lot of Hamas in those people that you saw yesterday and the day before."
Levin also expressed concern about the regional security situation and alleged that some individuals connected to the events Prince Harry and Meghan attended may have possibly had links to Hamas. "It's also dangerous because Iran is threatening war and they're going to Jordan," she continued, before pointing out: "They won't come to London, they won't come to the U.K. but they go to Jordan or anywhere where there can be a war. "
"You're saying that Meghan Markle's hanging out with Hamas terrorists?" Kyle asked. Levin clarified: "I'm not saying she's hanging out with them, but some of the people who are running these events in Jordan are Hamas. They had head things with their name, the numbers on it and their name." Kyle chimed in to add: "Unbelievable. She'll do anything, as you said, for a photograph."
