Will Prince Harry Have To Choose Between His Father Or His Wife?
According to recent reports, the Suits actress, 44, is making the situation quite complicated for various reasons. Previous reports have suggested that Prince Harry's reconciliation efforts have been largely one-sided, with insiders saying he preferred to handle things alone because Meghan "can be perceived as confrontational." Yikes!
We also know that Prince Harry, 41, has made it clear that he doesn't actually want Meghan or their children – Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet – to travel to the U.K. at the moment due to ongoing security concerns, which naturally makes reunion plans more difficult. But if insiders are to be believed, Meghan may not even be keen on a reunion anyway…
An insider told RadarOnline that the With Love, Meghan star is still seeking apologies from the royal family, which she is unlikely to get. "Harry is in a delicate position. He's eager to reconcile and has said to friends that life's too short for ongoing rifts, but Meghan maintains the palace hasn't accepted accountability," the source said.
A 'Lose-Lose Situation' For Prince Harry
Another insider chimed in: "The royal family values Harry's attempts to mend fences, and Charles in particular is glad to see the effort. Still, Harry is handling the discussions by himself, while Meghan keeps her distance.
They continued: "He's admitted to friends that it feels like an impossible balance – he can't satisfy Meghan while also persuading his family she truly wants reconciliation. To him, it feels like a lose-lose situation." They went on: "Unless she chooses to get involved, Harry will remain caught in the middle – struggling to appease both sides and feeling as though he's falling short with each."
The potential reunion isn't helped by the fact that Prince Harry has been reminded by his father that the late Queen Elizabeth II's position on his future still stands: he cannot be a "half-in, half-out" royal. This has understandably left him feeling stuck between two worlds, because according to insiders, it doesn't seem like he can have both!
Prince Harry Is Making An Effort With His Family, But Meghan Markle 'Isn't Willing To Compromise'
Prince Harry is reportedly going to great lengths to avoid more clashes with the royal family, which is even more proof that he is serious about a reconciliation. Sources say he's even shared his diary with palace officials to coordinate and prevent scheduling conflicts. This is likely inspired by his recent trip to Angola, which unintentionally overshadowed Queen Camilla's official birthday portrait.
The father-of-two is also said to have "expressed genuine regret over some of the remarks he made in interviews and in Spare," according to the insider. However, the source confirmed that the As Ever founder "hasn't followed suit."
"She remains convinced they were mistreated and isn't willing to compromise," the insider continued. "If she stays out of it, it gives the impression she's quietly directing things behind the scenes. The King wants assurance that both of them are committed, not only Harry."
