Pete Hegseth's Wife, Jennifer, Wears A Dress Seen On SHEIN To The White House Correspondents' Dinner
Last weekend, the annual White House Correspondents' dinner took place at the Washington Hilton hotel. It was quite an eventful and even traumatic evening, as guests were scared and panicked when a gunman entered the hotel with reported plans to kill the president and other members of his administration.
Now that some of the dust has settled, people are looking back on the night, trying to focus on some lighter subjects, like the fashion choices and outfits presented by notable figures in politics. In attendance, as expected, was the current Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, who was with his wife, Jennifer. He wore a fairly basic black and white suit, as his wife posed in a pale pink, off-shoulder dress with a satin strap and belt, as well as some silver embellishments on her waist.
After an influencer posted a viral tweet about the dress being from Temu, which looked incredibly similar and sold for around $13, she was later corrected, as social media users found it was sold only for a slightly higher price at $43 on another affordable fast fashion site, SHEIN. However, other social media users are seeing the dress, or very similar versions of it, popping up on Temu and Amazon, all within the same price range.
Social Media Users Slam Jennifer's Dress Amid Department Of Defense Spending Reports
It's no secret that the current Trump administration is serious about money, and in some departments, like the one run by the former FOX personality, it's being spent in extremely large amounts. Recently, reports revealed that the Department of Defense spent $94.1B in grants and contracts during September 2025 alone.
Although Hegseth and his department are clearly unafraid to spend massive sums, which social media users have slammed as "reckless," when it comes to Correspondent Dinner fashion, it's a different story. Once the truth behind his wife's dress was uncovered, social media exploded with critical comments.
"[It's] probably from a local right-wing boutique just reselling Temu items," joked an X user.
"Temu administration," added an Instagram user.
"She's not even steaming them," commented another, referring to some wrinkles in the pink dress.
"Sums up the entire hypocrisy of that administration," wrote a user.
We'll be curious if Jennifer or Pete decides to speak up as the dress continues to cause a stir and debate on the internet, but for now, what might've been a dress she figured would go under the radar is very much in the spotlight now.
