Kim Kardashian and her daughter North West were recently spotted leaving a recording studio in Los Angeles, sparking renewed criticism of Kardashian’s parenting from some online commenters.
On Monday, March 2, the mother-daughter duo was photographed exiting a late-night studio session that reportedly lasted about five hours and ended around 1 a.m., according to photos obtained by the Daily Mail.
In the images, the 12-year-old wore an oversized hoodie and studded sweatpants with zipper details, covering much of her face with large sunglasses.
The reality TV star opted for a long belted dark coat paired with chunky boots, styling her hair in a relaxed messy bun. The two were seen getting into a large vehicle after leaving the studio. See the photos here!

Fans also noticed that instead of her signature blue hair, North appeared to have returned to her natural dark shade, which she wore pulled back into a ponytail.
North making music isn’t exactly new, but many were surprised by how late the 12-year-old was reportedly working in the studio—even with her mom by her side.
Social media users quickly shared mixed reactions. “So the kid gets to hang in the studio until the wee hours of the morning. Who’s the parent and who’s the child?” one person wrote on Instagram. Another commented, “A 12-year-old having a five-hour studio session that lasts until 1 a.m.?!?”

Some fans defended the Skims mogul for accompanying her daughter to the session. “Before everyone starts hating on Kim, I honestly commend her for going with her,” one commenter wrote. “You all know how the music industry can be, and if your kid wants to do something, the least you can do is make sure they’re safe.”
North has already begun stepping into the music industry. In early 2026, she released her debut single, “Piercing on My Hand,” and is currently preparing her first album, Elementary School Dropout. The title is a playful nod to her father Kanye West’s iconic 2004 album, The College Dropout.
She has also reportedly signed a deal with the independent music company Gamma and has already performed live alongside her father during a show in Mexico City.
