North West Promotes New Album In A Blue Wig With Finger Piercings

North's social media promotion has been simple: just photos of herself and sometimes her father, Kanye West. Her latest look: a waist-length bright blue wig with metal studs adhered to it, bleached eyebrows, long nails with blue-and-black designs, and her infamous finger piercings on full display.

It's not outrageous to say that the look is a little old for her—at just twelve years old, many doctors have advised against dermal piercings, and acrylic nails are generally reserved for adults. However, North has full support from both of her parents, who have publicly defended their daughters' iconic look.

Social Media Reactions

Across social media platforms, users have reacted to North's album promotion, with many leaving supportive comments, but many others feeling very critical. "She is 12 years old," one person wrote on Instagram. "Looking like she's 20. Sad."

"What is wrong with our young?" the next person asked.

"She doesn't look her age at all," another agreed.

"So sad," said another user. "Poor little girl can't be a little girl. Shame on her parents."

"Somebody help this child," wrote another.

"Just enjoy your childhood," said the next.

"Wanted to be an adult so bad she don't even look her age," a final user said.
