Netflix Cancels ‘Ransom Canyon’ After Two Seasons
Based on Jodi Thomas’ book series, Ransom Canyon followed three ranching families in a small Texas town as they dealt with complicated relationships, family rivalries, and fights over their land and legacies. The romantic drama starred Josh Duhamel as rancher Staten Kirkland and Minka Kelly as Quinn O’Grady, a musician with a complicated history with Staten. The cast also included Lizzy Greene, Garrett Wareing, Marianly Tejada, and James Brolin.
The series premiered in April 2025 and ran for two seasons, with its second season arriving in July 2026, but unfortunately, fans won’t get to see how the story continues.
According to recent reports, Netflix canceled Ransom Canyon in September after its second season failed to attract the same level of viewership as its first. The decision came less than two months after the latest episodes premiered, despite the show having more storylines to explore.
Netflix Subscribers Express Their Disappointment About The Cancellation On Social Media
It’s safe to say that not everyone is ready to say goodbye to Ransom Canyon, judging by the reaction from viewers online.
After news of the cancellation spread, disappointed subscribers took to social media to share their reactions, with some expressing frustration that Netflix had pulled the plug on a series they enjoyed. Others weren’t happy about the show’s ending after investing two seasons in its characters and relationships.
“This sucks,” responded an X user. “I really like Josh and Minka and their characters.”
“Netflix pushes out so many series that you know everyone is not watching, then cancels the ones that people are watching,” wrote another. “Very upsetting news.”
One user wrote they were “so gutted” by the news of the cancellation, adding, “We deserved a season 3.”
“This absolutely sucks!” echoed a user, tagging Netflix. “I just finished watching S1 & S2, waiting for S3, and this happens? Why do you cancel all of the good stuff?”
