Even though summer isn’t over yet, the White House—and First Lady Melania Trump—is already gearing up for the holiday season.

As the countdown to Christmas begins, we’re excited to see what festive look she’ll choose this year. During Melania’s first term, she impressed with a series of stylish ensembles, and one standout was the striking Balenciaga coat she wore in 2020.

The ensemble featured an oversized houndstooth coat with a wrap-around high neck, three-quarter sleeves, and button closures down the front. She completed the cozy, polished look with heeled black suede boots and sleek leather gloves.

Her hair was noticeably lighter at the time, styled in a voluminous center part. The mother of one chatted with the carriage drivers, who were both wearing black masks in line with the COVID health protocols back then.

This year, Melania is on the lookout for fresh talent to perform at the White House this holiday season. In a press release issued Monday, the call went out for volunteers and performers to join in celebrating the festive season at the nation’s most famous residence.

The statement said, "Americans from every U.S. state and territory are invited to apply for the opportunity to assist with decorating at the White House or showcase their talents as a performer at the holiday open houses. Starting today, applications are open for those interested in volunteering for the 2025 Christmas season."

It continued, "The deadline to submit a volunteer application is Friday, September 5, 2025, at 5:00 PM ET. Selected applicants will be notified by Monday, October 13, 2025, at 5:00 PM ET."

Fashion enthusiasts are eager to see what she’ll be wearing this year. In her current term, she has gravitated toward skirt suits, power suits, and timeless prints like florals and polka dots to refresh her wardrobe with a trendy twist. While her first term was defined by a rotation of elegant midi dresses, she has since elevated her style to convey a more polished, sophisticated vibe.

Her longtime stylist and designer, Hervé Pierre, even shared insights into her fashion choices. “She is always impeccably dressed, even when not in public: a pair of skinny pants and a crisp white shirt is usually her signature look,” Pierre told HELLO! in a cover story and interview.
