The act is said to help benefit the lives of children in the American foster system, expanding housing, increasing scholarships and educational opportunities, and more. Congress Passes The 'Fostering the Future' Act, Championed By First Lady Melania Trump
Ever since President Donald Trump began his second term in the White House last year, people have been discussing how his wife, Melania, has seemingly taken more of a backseat, making fewer public appearances and not doing much in terms of service.
However, over the last few months, she's been a strong advocate for one act in particular - the Fostering the Future Act.
"Fostering the Future, a Be Best initiative, secures educational opportunities and scholarships for children in the foster care community," is written on her website. "Scholarship recipients will learn in a supportive environment, gaining knowledge critical to realizing job security within the technology sector. By providing access to a computer science education, these individuals will be prepared to enter the workforce and ultimately reach financial independence."
After making speeches about the importance of the act and why America needs to improve the foster care system, on Tuesday, May 19th, members of the U.S. House of Representatives unanimously passed it.
Social Media Praises Melania After Learning About The Act's Passing
After news broke that Fostering the Future was officially passed and on its way to making a difference in the U.S. foster care system, numerous social media users, from fans of the Slovenian native to those passionate about foster children in America, began sharing excited comments.
On her and the White House's Instagam account, users left comments praising Melania's work and cheering her on to do even more during the rest of her husband's second term.
