Melania Trump Reflects On 'Beautiful' Childhood Under Communism
On Wednesday, September 23rd, the first lady appeared on Fox Business and the topic came to her upbringing. After being asked what it was like to grow up under communism and whether that experience gave Eastern Europeans a different appreciation for freedom, Melania argued that she actually had quite a nice childhood. "I grew up, under the communism, and actually, I didn't miss anything," she said. "I feel I had a very beautiful childhood, and, my parents provide a beautiful child for my family."
"But, yes, there are some certain things that, you know, you need to be aware of," she added. "And you watched over what you do."
This comes not long after Donald Trump attacked Democrats and democratic socialists using "communism" as an insult at the Republican convention earlier this month. "They call themselves Democrat socialists, but actually, they're communists," he said.

Across social media platforms, many users were surprised to hear Melania speaking so highly of a communist regime when it's something many Republicans, including her own husband, are against. Others simply didn't believe the first lady, asking questions online like, "Then why did you move to the US?"
