The theory that Meghan Markle tries to copy Princess Diana has been around pretty much since she and Prince Harry started dating. Meghan Markle's Bazaar Cover Shoot Reminiscent of Princess Diana's Vogue Shoot

In a post shared on Instagram, fan account @royalroundup compared Meghan Markle's recent cover photoshoot with Bazaar to Princess Diana's British Vogue shoot from 1997, published two months after her death. In both cover photos, both women are wearing bright red dresses and pose in front of a simple background. While the dresses bear no resemblance to one another, it's hard to ignore the similarity of the color and the style of the cover.

But if that doesn't convince you, some of the inside photographs will. In Diana's black-and-white photo, she sits crosslegged with her elbows resting on her knees and hands clasped in front of her. She wears a simple white sweater vest and black pants, keeping her hair and makeup simple and her feet bare.

In Meghan's black-and-white photo, she poses identically: sitting barefoot and crosslegged, elbows resting on her knees and entwining her fingers in front of her. She wears black pants, a white button down shirt with the sleeves rolled up, with little-to-no makeup and her hair pulled back—perhaps to mimic Diana's pixie cut?

Social Media Reactions

While the red dresses on the cover of the magazines could be a coincidence, the crosslegged black-and-white photographs are pretty convincing, and fans let their feelings be known on social media. "Diana was so special and elegant," one person wrote on Instagram. "[Meghan] is nothing like her!"

"Dear god she never stops!" another person wrote.

"Wow...if this doesn't wake [Prince Harry] up nothing will," added another.

"Can we stop trying to copy Diana?" a fourth person asked. "What is this obsession all the time?"

"She's not right in the head," another user commented.

"She has a very unhealthy obsession with Diana," a final person wrote. "Her cosplaying is truly sick."
