Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were just beginning to get some positive press following their recent trip to Australia, when the spotlight swung back towards the royal family, with Kate Middleton’s announcement of their first solo trip since her cancer diagnosis. The Princess of Wales will be traveling to Italy, where she’ll focus primarily on children to link it to her Centre for Early Childhood’s global intiatives.
This only means much more attention on Kate, with Meghan and Harry back on the back burner, a fact that Meghan Markle is not only quite unhappy about, but feels it’s not a “coincidence.” Keep reading for more information

Meghan Markle's Spotlight Stolen
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry spent four days in Australia attending and hosting different events and generally getting some positive press for the first time in a while. It seems like Meghan thought they might ride out that good favor for a few weeks, and feels like the attention was yanked away from her by Kate Middleton.
The Princess of Wales just announced a trip to Italy, her first solo trip since her cancer diagnosis, where she'll visit Reggio Emilia. Kensington Palace wrote in their announcement that Kate is "very much looking forward" to resuming international engagements.
Though her trip will be short—just two quick days—the spotlight will definitely be back on her, and Meghan reportedly isn't happy about it. "Meghan says every time she and Harry start building momentum, the royal machine suddenly swings into action and steals the spotlight away from them again," an insider shared, adding that the Duchess is "sick and tired of it."

"She and Harry have just come back from this great overseas trip and they’re finally getting some positive press and suddenly Kate’s everywhere again," the source continued. Meghan feels like Kate is "trying to reestablish her territory and Meghan is convinced it’s because Kate is feeling threatened."
The insider also added that "Meghan has always said that Kate was unnecessarily competitive with her," but it also seems like Meghan can't help but be competitive back, posting on social media for Archie's birthday amid the announcement. Staying true to her values of privacy, Meghan shared a baby photo and a snapshot of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet from behind to celebrate the Prince's 7th birthday.
"7 years later…happy birthday to our sweet boy," she wrote in the caption. While many critics accused her of trying to steal the spotlight back, with Kate's Italy trip taking place today, it's unlikely her attempts worked.
