The Duchess of Sussex recently shared a new promotional video for her lifestyle brand, As Ever, where she discussed her individual family members’ favorite products. At one point, she revealed the jam flavors her and Harry’s two kids like the most, referring to them each by a nickname. After the post was shared, not only did social media users accuse her of using her family for monetization, but people were reminded that she and Prince Harry had previously clashed over not sharing too much content about their children. When the Duke and Duchess left the UK for California in 2020, aside from media scrutiny and the rigidity of the royal lifestyle, they openly expressed how they wanted a different life for their son, Archie, and any future children they may have, which ended up being their daughter, Lilibet.
However, things have changed a bit, as after not posting any content with their children for a long time, since Meghan began her career as a lifestyle guru, she increased her social media presence, as well as the number of things she posted about her kids, including photos of the backs of their heads or side profiles.
This week, she began sharing some ‘at-home,’ more personalized promo videos for her brand, As Ever, including one where she opened up about her family members’ favorite items from it. In the process, she even revealed her children’s nicknames.
“Everyone in my family has a different favorite,” she begins. “My husband loves the raspberry. Lil loves the strawberry. Arch likes both. And I like the marmalade.”

Though she's been sharing a lot of different promotional content for her brand lately, pushing past any backlash and rumors, the new video related to her children stood out to many on social media. It followed a new trend of her sharing more things about them, like earlier this month, when she revealed that Lilibet helped her choose an outfit for her trip to Switzerland.
The behavior is a sharp contrast from earlier reports that, as she continued planning for and filming her since-canceled Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, the Suits alumna and her husband were budding heads. The estranged prince reportedly was "reluctant to show his children publicly, not out of a desire to hide them but to protect their privacy and safety from potential threats," and even social media posts were an issue for him.
Now, it looks like the sharing of Archie and Lilibet's nicknames, as well as small 'fun facts' about their personalities, could be an indicator that their father is having a change of heart, or perhaps their mother is insistent on continuing to share that kind of information.
