Kylie Jenner is raising eyebrows once again—this time over a smoking moment in her latest photoshoot.

For the cover of Vanity Fair, the reality star wore a black satin bra by Dolce & Gabbana, paired with light olive-green Hermès pants, a Balenciaga belt, and leather shoes. Posing in a vintage-inspired room with a black cat in the corner, the makeup mogul was photographed lighting a cigarette while staring directly into the camera, her bleached brows adding to the edgy look. See the cover here.

Other outfits from the shoot included a dramatic ruffled dress, while another image showed her lying on a bed in sheer tights, striking a mannequin-like pose.

Kylie Jenner Slammed For Smoking On 'Vanity Fair' Cover

While the mother of two pulled off each look effortlessly, many fans online were less focused on the fashion and more concerned about her appearing to promote smoking.

Fans quickly took to social media to criticize the imagery, with many calling out the message behind it.

“It is NOT okay to promote smoking. You know kids are influenced by the Kardashians! This is shocking!” one person wrote on Instagram. Another added, “Appalling. Why are you promoting smoking, Vanity Fair? Totally irresponsible.”

Others were just as blunt, with comments like, “This is a bad look,” and, “Seriously? It’s 2026 and we’re still promoting smoking? Who approved this?” One user even questioned the entire creative process, saying those involved “should be fired.”

Over on X, reactions echoed similar concerns. “Promoting smoking to a mostly underage fanbase? I like her, but this is NOT okay,” one user wrote, while another added, “Why promote smoking? Use your platform for something better.”

On her personal Instagram account, fans didn't hold back. "Why are we glamorizing smoking cigarettes? It seems to be a trend lately," said one user. A second commented, "What’s up with the cancer stick? Ick. Ruins the photo."

"Please stop the glamorizing of cigarettes, not good! You should know better you have two children," wrote someone else.

Kylie Jenner Opens Up About Her Unconventional Upbringing

Just last month, she faced similar backlash over smoking imagery. After releasing her first single, “Fourth Strike,” in 2025, Jenner made a surprise cameo in A. G. Cook’s “Residue” music video.

The track is featured on The Moment soundtrack, and the mom of two also appears briefly in the film itself. In the video, she wore a white tank top with a black lace bra underneath, paired with low-rise black pants. She styled her hair in a side part, opted for a brown lip, and was seen taking a puff of a cigarette—once again sparking criticism online.

Kylie, who is currently dating Timothee Chalamet, and her family are no strangers to criticism, and in her cover interview, she told the magazine that the life she’s lived is simply all she knows.

“I don’t think any of us knew what we were getting ourselves into in the beginning,” Kylie shared. “I was nine, and now I have a daughter who’s turning eight, so it’s crazy to see her and how young she is. This is when you start forming your first memories. It’s almost like I don’t know anything else. I never experienced normalcy as an adult. Growing up in it almost became a benefit, because I don’t really have anything to compare it to.”
