Kylie Jenner And Ex Travis Scott Throw Controversial Astroworld-Themed Birthday Party For Their Kids

The 28-year-old Kylie Cosmetics founder – who is currently dating Timothée Chalamet – and the 34-year-old "Sick Mode" rapper once again threw an Astroworld-themed birthday party for their daughter and son, rumored to have cost around $400K!

The internet was outraged by the decorations due to the tragedy that occurred at the Astroworld Festival in Houston in November 2021, which saw ten people lose their lives during a crowd surge while Scott – real name Jacques Bermon Webster II – was performing. Hundreds of other people were injured, and the event sparked widespread conversations about concert safety, crowd control, and accountability.

Stormi turned 8 years old on February 1st, while her brother turned 4 just one day later on February 2nd, hence the joint birthday party.

One of the most controversial decorations at the party was the huge entryway, which was modeled after Astroworld. But instead of the original Astroworld imagery, it was Stormi and Aire's faces that welcomed guests – although the inspiration was unmistakable.

There was also a lot of Labubu-themed décor, including paper plates, balloons, and life-size Labubu figures meant to represent the birthday girl and boy. Personal branding was also on full display, with sweet treats featuring photos of Stormi and Aire printed on them, as well as monogrammed shirts with their faces for guests to take home.

Social Media Slams The Birthday Party

"This is in poor taste considering how many people died at this festival," slammed one person on a Page Six Instagram post. "This whole family is tone deaf about people's lives," agreed a second, as a third concurred: "He could care less just as long as he got his cash money."

A fourth echoed: "Absolutely what I was thinking... so tasteless and disrespectful." "Feels like since people including a 10 year old child died at Astroworld with similar features that this is kind of disgusting, and I'm usually a fan of Kylie's but ughhh gross," criticized a fifth fan.

"This theme feels gross," wrote a sixth in agreement, as a seventh noted: "Ummmm people died at that festival." An eighth rounded up what many people were thinking: "Imagine your fans screaming in your face that people are dying at your festival and you ignore them and keep on playing and then you make that the theme for your child's birthday. Wild."

Others also slammed the overall nature of the party, with a ninth writing: "They have the creepiest bday parties for their kids." "Gives heebie jeebie vibes," added a tenth, as an eleventh pointed out: "That is creepy."
