Kim Kardashian has been in her acting era for quite some time now, but as she entered creating her own show, she was reportedly shut down.
The reality star reportedly co-created a concept for a new comedy series based on her friend’s book, but when it was pitched to Hulu, the same streaming service that airs her family’s famous reality show spin-off, it was turned down. The news didn’t come long after fans and other social media users expressed outrage at her latest performance in Ryan Murphy’s All’s Fair due to her “terrible” acting. Read more about the situation below.

Kim Kardashian's New Series Is Turned Away By Hulu
If there's one thing to know about Kim Kardashian, it's that she's always going to be surprising her fanbase with her new business ventures. Over the last few years, the SKIMS founder has been working on and expanding her acting career, most notably playing roles for Ryan Murphy, creator of American Horror Story and Glee.
However, behind the scenes, since 2023, she's been working on co-creating a show, where she would not only star in it, but also work as an executive producer. The series, titled Group Chat, is awaiting its pilot episode to be picked up. It's reportedly based on her longtime friend, La La Anthony's book, The Love Playbook, and would go under the comedy genre.
Although the pilot has been in development for two years, as recently reported by Variety, it was rejected by Hulu, despite the streaming platform clearly supporting her family through their latest spin-off reality show, The Kardashians, as well as streaming her latest performance as Aurora in All's Fair.

Social Media Users React To The News & Slam Kim's Acting
Once the news about the mom-of-four's new show pilot getting turned away by Hulu broke, social media users and other critics of hers began weighing in on the matter. Though many fans have been supporting her acting ventures, others are adamantly against seeing her on their screens in any other context than a reality show, and were relieved that another one wasn't in the midst.
On platforms like Reddit, users reflected on her "terrible" acting choices and wrote about how, in their eyes, it was for the best that the show would not come out on the mega streaming service.
"It's probably for the best," commented a user. "We don't need more trash TV."
"Makes me think Hulu may finally be getting tired of the Kar-Jenners," speculated another.
"We have been saved!" joked a critic, as another added, "Hulu finally realizing Kim's 'projects' cost more to make than they ever bring in and that they're still on the hook for a second snoozefest of All's Fair."
We'll be curious to see what the future holds for Group Chat, and if another streaming service decides to pick it up, or if Kim and La La will decide to let it go.
