NBC Announces Kelly Clarkson Will Return To 'The Voice' For Season 30

It's no secret that aside from American Idol, The Voice has become one of today's most popular competition series out there. People are still loving the notion of having the judges listen to contestants' voices before looking at them, rooting for different coaches and their team members, voting, etc.

Though the core selection of coaches has changed by season, one of the more recent ones has been the "Since U Been Gone" singer, who made a return for season 29 after taking a three-year-long break to focus on her own talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, and take on other projects. Fans of hers were thrilled to see her back for season 29, especially due to concerns surrounding her personal life, including the death of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock.

Now, it looks like she'll be returning once again, as not long after singer Alexia Jayy took home the victory last month, NBC revealed that Kelly and Adam Levine, one of the show's longest-standing judges, were returning, and two new additions, country singer Riley Green and icon Queen Latifah, were joining.

"As The Voice returns this fall on NBC, the iconic red chairs will be occupied by a dynamite group of music legends who each bring something unique to the table," wrote the network in a statement.

Fans Express Mixed Reactions To Kelly's Return On Social Media

It didn't take long after the announcement went public for people to start sharing their opinions on the next round of judges, particularly the talk show hosts' return.

Though the American Idol alum was a longtime fan-favorite, some internet users, fans of hers, as well as viewers of the show, weren't as into her appearance on the show this year. Many had criticisms over her judging, how she interacted with contestants, and more, voicing these concerns under one of the show's latest Instagram posts about her. Other fans of her as an artist felt let down by the announcement, hoping she would return to recording music instead.

"I love Kelly, but please focus on music," commented a user. "No more TV! It's enough."

"I was hoping for lots of music instead," added a fan.

"[She's] so boring," wrote a critic, referring to her presence on the show.

"I was mildly surprised and disappointed to hear Kelly on The Voice this season," added a user.
