Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman‘s divorce is one of the most talked-about pieces of celebrity drama, and after a rough start, it looks like the country singer is moving on.
Following reports that the musician was going through a rough time due to his divorce and his daughters’ alleged preference for their mom, his friend and fellow artist, Russell Dickerson, came forward to express that he’s “doing great.” It’s one of the first times a celebrity has spoken directly on his account, and it’s a pretty different story than what was being told before. Read more about it below.

Russell Dickerson Says Keith Urban Is 'Doing Great' Following His Divorce From Nicole Kidman
The divorce between the two Australian celebrities was quite a shocker for many fans and pop culture enthusiasts, as they were married for nearly two decades and often boasted about how great their relationship and family life were.
When their split was revealed at the end of last year, fans immediately wondered how they were holding in there. Reports quickly started coming out, claiming that Keith was beginning to spend his time with younger women, including a musician in his band. Additionally, others noted that he wasn't in the best place mentally due to drama with his daughters. However, fellow country artist and a friend of his, Russell Dickerson, recently talked about their relationship and how he was holding up on the red carpet.
"I learned his songs when I was learning guitar," he said while being interviewed at the iHeart Radio Music Awards. "He's such a huge influence on me learning guitar. It was just very cool for him to watch."
When it came to talking about his divorce, the artist said he's "doing great" and "seemed in good spirits."
"He's always been focused on music, and so I think he's just kind of doubling down on that, and it's just beautiful," he added.

Keith & Nicole's Daughters Are Reportedly 'Siding' With Their Mom
There are likely many reasons that made their surprising split especially difficult for the famous couple, and it looks like it's certainly been making an impact on their two daughters as well. The couple is currently co-parenting Sunday Rose and Faith, who are in their teenage years, and after they split, insiders revealed they were "siding" with their mom. As rumors came out that Keith had a young girlfriend, it was also said that they "refused" to meet her.
Subtly confirming that, Sunday Rose, who is an up-and-coming model, raved about her "inspirational" mom in a recent interview, but didn't say anything about her dad, which sources said made him feel "numb."
"Keith doesn't know what to say, but he's trying to put on a brave front," an insider told New Idea. "He knows he has to be patient; however, this latest snub – so publicly, there in black and white – has stumped him."
