Kate Middleton Pairs Her Emerald Gown With Dark Eye Makeup For State Dinner

Today, prominent members of the royal family stepped out for an official UK state visit with President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu of Nigeria.

For the highly anticipated two-day visit, the royal family sat down today with the leaders for a banquet-style dinner, where they were dressed to the nines. For the meal in St. George’s Hall, Princess Kate wore a long-sleeved emerald green gown with a high neckline and cinched waist.

She had on a tiara, which reportedly belonged to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, and was sporting darker eye makeup than she usually does.

Fans React To Kate's Look & Call Her Hair 'Unkempt'

After high-quality photos from the dinner were shared on social media, fans and other internet users began weighing in on her outfit and overall look.

Though people are usually praising her looks and fashion, this one didn't land as well. Kate is known for her sophisticated style, and although her dress received some kind words, people weren't thrilled with her hair and makeup.

"Who gave her the black eye?" asked an X user.

"She looks permanently unkempt with this hairdo at official occasions," wrote another. "An updo would be more appropriate and flattering."

"She looks like she has been dragged through a hedge backwards," added another.
