Kate Middleton Speaks Welsh For The First Time
In the video, which is posted to the @PrinceAndPrincessOfWales Instagram account, Prince William starts the video by saying, in Welsh, “To everyone in Wales, a very St. David’s Day.” Then, Kate says, also in Welsh, “Wales is very close to our hearts, and we look forward to every visit.”
“It is a beautiful country with a rich history and wonderful people,” William continued, and Kate added, “Wishing you a day of celebration with family and friends.” The Prince and Princess stand next to one another, William dressed in a blue suit with a red and blue striped tie, and Kate in a stunning red and black plaid dress with buttons down the front and large lapels. Each is wearing a yellow daffodil pin, which is a symbol of St. David.
Throughout the whole video, though, during the brief periods when Kate is speaking, it looks a little bit like Prince William is trying his very hardest not to laugh, fighting to keep the corners of his mouth from turning up.
