Karoline Leavitt has had to do a lot of explaining regarding some of President Trump’s most recent statements, and one of her latest responses earned her a nod on social media.
The young press secretary recently had to back the president after reporters brought up statements made by Dr. Oz about the president believing that diet soda has the capability to cure cancer. After a reporter read the quotes back to Karoline, she made a quippy remark, which people were later impressed by online, as they weren’t quite sure how she was going to handle it. Read more about what she said below.

Reporters Bring Up Donald Trump's Claims That Diet Soda Could 'Kill' Cancer Cells
The president has been known for making some pretty out-of-the-ordinary remarks lately, and one of his more recent ones came from a new episode of Donald Trump Jr.'s podcast, Triggered with Don Jr. The eldest son of the 79-year-old spoke with the famous Dr. Oz, who recalled a time he gave him a pretty interesting theory about the effects of diet soda, which he's been known to drink often.
"Your dad argues that diet soda is good for him because it kills grass — if poured on grass — so, therefore, it must kill cancer cells inside the body," the television personality told Don Jr. "You know, we were on Air Force One the other day, and I walk in there because he wants to talk about something, and he's got an orange soft drink on his desk. He's got a Fanta on the desk."
"And I say, 'Are you kidding me?'" he continued. "So he starts to, like, sheepishly grin. He says, 'You know, this stuff's good for me, it kills cancer cells.'"
A reporter brought this conversation up during a recent White House press briefing with Karoline Leavitt, asking her, "Was this sort of an accurate description of how the president sees?"

Social Media Praises Karoline Leavitt's Response To The President's Diet Soda Claims
After the reporter directed his question towards the expectant mom-of-one, she smiled and responded in an interesting manner that later trended.
"As we all know in this room, I think, you know, the president has a very good sense of humor," she said while smiling and softly laughing. "It's one of his most underreported characteristics, I would say. I have heard him tell this joke before. I think the Wall Street Journal should get a better sense of humor."
On social media platforms like Instagram, supporters of the Apprentice star and Karoline alike cheered on her response, believing she addressed the comments about diet soda in an appropriate and humorous manner.
"Her little giggle was great!" wrote a user. "The press is so fake. She handles their rudeness so well."
"Like her or not, she's so fast and smart," commented another.
"Excellent job," wrote a user.
