Kanye West‘s presidential campaign was doomed from the start with his name not even appearing on the ballot in many states.
With that in mind, it was no surprised when he conceded early Wednesday morning. However, the rapper did have one surprise left in store: he announced that he would be trying again in 2024.
Keep reading for all the details.

The rapper announced the news on Twitter, posting a photo in front of the election map. He originally wrote, "WELP… KANYE 2024" alongside the photo but later changed it to just "KANYE 2024."

With that in mind, it's not the last we will hear of Kanye's presidential aspirations.

According to Deadline, West was able to garner around 60,000 votes in this election: "It’s safe to say at least 60,000 Americans voted for West, who ran as an Independent. While a few states were still under 80% reported as of this writing, our count puts him at 59,781 total votes. Thus, it’s a pretty good guess he’ll go over 60,000 by the time all states are fully counted."
The rapper had 10,188 votes in Tennessee.

On Election Day, Kanye tweeted that he would be voting for himself, posting, "God is so good...Today I am voting for the first time in my life for the President of the United States, and it's for someone I truly trust...me."
He also posted a photo of himself after voting, showing off his "I voted" sticker.

Kanye also shared several videos of him completing his ballot and submitting his vote.

Kanye's wife, Kim Kardashian, also shared a picture of her with an "I voted" sticker, but fans are not sure who she marked on her ballot.
Since Kardashian has not publicly said who she voted for, most fans to believe she did not vote for Kanye.
