Jennifer Lopez turned heads once again and sparked plenty of conversation with her latest outfit.

While promoting Office Romance at the 2026 Netflix Upfront presentation on Wednesday, May 13, the singer and actress stepped out in a vintage Jean Paul Gaultier corset-inspired skirt suit that immediately caught fans’ attention.

The lingerie-inspired ensemble, sourced from vintage boutique What Comes Around Goes Around, featured a pale peach structured blazer with a plunging neckline, stretch panel detailing at the waist, tightly laced hips, and long sleeves. Lopez wore the tailored blazer without a top underneath, leaning fully into the bold corset aesthetic.

The 56-year-old paired the statement jacket with a matching satin and stretch-lace mermaid-style midi skirt from Gaultier’s 2014 spring collection, complete with a ruffled hem for added drama. To finish the look, Lopez wore metallic champagne Femme LA “Opera” pointed-toe sandals.

The mom of two walked the red carpet at Sunset Pier 94 Studios alongside her Office Romance co-star Brett Goldstein.

However, many fans online were not impressed with the outfit and quickly shared mixed reactions to the archival look.

“I like the top, but not the skirt,” one person wrote on Reddit. “The satin panel and ruffle texture don’t match, and the shine of the fabric makes the look feel disjointed. Nothing is cohesive.”

Another user criticized Lopez’s styling choices, writing, “J.Lo loves a nude lip and nude colors in general, but this is awful. And the overlining of her lips makes it even worse.”

Others felt the vintage piece had more potential than what was presented on the carpet. “It’s a horrible outfit. She looks pretty regardless,” one person commented.

Another added, “She’s so gorgeous, but somehow this hot archival piece looks boring. Is it the styling? The lack of personality? This is the woman who wore the iconic green Versace dress, for heaven’s sake.”

Some users believed the ensemble should have stayed in the fashion archives entirely. “I think we should’ve left this in the archives,” one critic wrote.

Another commenter compared the vibe to reality TV glam, saying, “It’s giving Real Housewives of Orange County, which lately feels very on-brand for J.Lo. I think the skirt is just too distracting. Maybe straight-leg pants or a simpler skirt would’ve worked better. The jacket also feels slightly oversized, especially in the sleeves, and the ankle-strap shoes shorten her legs.”

Jennifer Lopez Returns To Rom-Coms

Lopez is staying booked and busy. Often considered the unofficial queen of romantic comedies, she is returning to the genre with Office Romance, a 2026 rom-com co-starring Brett Goldstein.

In the film, J.Lo plays a powerful CEO who unexpectedly falls for her newly hired legal employee, played by Goldstein. As the two workaholics become entangled in a passionate but secret workplace romance, their relationship begins to threaten both her company and the empire she worked hard to build.

Office Romance is set to debut on June 5 and will be available to stream on Netflix.

“It felt great to come back to a rom-com. It’s been too long, and this one might be my favorite one I’ve ever done,” she said during the event.
