Jennifer Lopez Says She's In Her 'Happy Era'

In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, which was published on March 10th, in promotion of her Up All Night residency in Las Vegas, the mom-of-two opened up about finally feeling "free" for the first time in her life. While she didn't mention her "nightmare" divorce from Ben Affleck in the interview, it's implied that that's what she was referring to with her comments.

"I call it my 'happy era' because for the first time in my life, I feel very free. I feel very joyful. I'm very aware of things that I have learned along the way. I'm very grateful," she confessed in the interview.

"I just wake up every day with a smile on my face," the Hustlers actress added. "It's a different life now than it was a few years ago," she went on, which some interpreted as another hint that she could have been referring to her latest ex-husband.

Jennifer Lopez Also Opens Up About Her Twins Leaving For College

Elsewhere in the interview, the JLo Beauty mogul spoke about her 18-year-old twins Max and Emme, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony, preparing to leave for college. And while she said she was proud of them and was ready for them to spread their wings, she admitted that it has been a very emotional time for her…

"They leave in August. I know, it's crazy," the Unstoppable actress said, explaining that part of her feels "ready" for the change, while another part isn't prepared for it yet.

"It is very emotional. I found myself being very emotional about it," the Kiss of the Spider Woman actress confessed. "I've been writing their end-of-year letters… that you give to the seniors, and it's hitting you. It hits you in waves."

Social Media Reacts To J-Lo's 'Free' Comments: 'She Gives The Same Speech After Every Breakup'

Despite what she said about feeling happy and free, many people on social media weren't buying it. Some critics pointed out that the "I'm Real" singer has made similar comments many times before – particularly after high-profile breakups – and questioned whether the statement was sincere...

"She gives the same speech after every breakup/divorce," slammed one fan on X. "She is an actor always faking feelings. They call it acting!" exclaimed a second, as a third echoed: "Trying to save face, this [expletive] is a reject… she cheats she lies she can't keep a man she can't make hit songs her voice sucks her movies suck she's a narcissist etc."

"I cannot stand her. She's an egotistical sob. She will never find a man," agreed a fourth, as a fifth said: "She forgot the un at the beginning of happy."

The comments weren't any better on Instagram. "Oh, puhlease," commented one user. "I don't believe a word she says," claimed a second, as a third said: "People who have to constantly say how happy they are, aren't actually happy at all."

"Sure Jennifer, sure," quipped a fourth. "More like her 'LONELY can NOT get a man' era," joked a fifth, followed by multiple crying laughing emojis. "Always 'first time in my life,'" observed a sixth, followed by the eye rolling emoji.

"J-Lo you remind me of Elizabeth Taylor. You need to be alone. Prob hard to live with very demanding yes you're aware," claimed a seventh, as an eighth asked: "How can she be so happy when she was obsessed with her husband a year ago and embarrassed herself with Dear Ben II and a whole movie and album about him? And he looks like HE is in his happy era now."
