Several celebrities turned heads in the Royal Box during the Wimbledon men’s singles final on Sunday, but it was Jennifer Lopez‘s oversized hat that became one of the day’s biggest talking points.
The singer and actress attended Jannik Sinner’s victory over Alexander Zverev at Centre Court wearing an extra-large, floppy sand-colored Ralph Lauren hat. Measuring approximately 17 inches wide, according to the brand’s website, the dramatic accessory curved upward in the front so Lopez could see the match—but many online pointed out that it appeared to block the view of spectators seated behind her.

Jennifer Lopez Wears View-Blocking Hat At Wimbledon
The Office Romance star was joined by several other high-profile guests, including Tom Hiddleston, who was seated beside her, as well as Kate Middleton, Andrew Garfield, Nicole Kidman, and Anna Wintour. While Garfield opted for a simple green cap, the rest of the celebrity guests largely chose more understated accessories.
Although Wimbledon doesn't have an official dress code for general spectators, smart-casual attire is encouraged. The tournament prohibits ripped jeans, sports shorts, dirty trainers, and clothing featuring political statements.
The Royal Box, however, follows stricter etiquette. Men are generally expected to wear a lounge suit or blazer with a tie, while women are asked to dress smartly. Wimbledon also discourages large hats because they can obstruct the view of guests sitting behind the wearer.
Hats are permitted for protection from the sun, but tournament etiquette recommends removing them during play whenever possible. As the afternoon wore on and the sun disappeared, the mom of two was seen taking off the oversized hat.

Social Media Reacts
Social media users were quick to criticize the accessory.
"It's Wimbledon guideline that big hats are a no... but there you go," one Instagram user wrote.
Another commented, "The best part is it doesn't even shade her face! What's its purpose?!"
Others added, "Entitled," "The funny thing is the sun is in her face. That huge hat is doing nothing," and "J.Lo wearing the biggest hat, completely ignoring that she's blocking other people's view."
Several users also questioned the styling, with comments including, "J.Lo needs an educated stylist," "That hat is awful," and "Looks like a tortilla shell on J.Lo's head."
The hat was part of a coordinated Ralph Lauren ensemble. Lopez paired it with a sleeveless nude midi dress featuring a ruched wrap bodice, ankle-strap heels, and a structured leather top-handle handbag, creating a monochromatic look that complemented the statement accessory.
