Jelly Roll is one of many celebrities who have been paying tribute to the late Dolly Parton, and he flaunted his slim physique while singing one of her songs on the Grand Ole Opry stage.
The singer-songwriter took the stage at the infamous Nashville music venue over the weekend as he and other artists in the country music industry put on an impromptu tribute show for the iconic Dolly just days after her family announced her passing. While on stage, he got to put his weight loss on display, as he’s been working extra hard to slim down over the last few years. Though some internet users still disturbed by his MAGA-related comments weren’t thrilled to see him, others appreciated his participation and cheered him on. Jelly Roll Sings At The Dolly Parton Tribute Show
It’s no secret that one of the biggest headlines causing music lovers to reel over the last week has been the announcement of the loss of the “Jolene” singer, who passed away at the age of 80 on August 25th.
Days later, the historic and esteemed music venue in her home state of Tennessee, the Grand Ole Opry, paid tribute to Dolly with an emotional show on August 29th. The tribute show brought together several country music stars to celebrate the late icon’s impressive career. The special evening featured performances from Carly Pearce, Kathy Mattea, Molly Tuttle, Dolly’s niece, Jada Star, and more.
The tribute ended on a particularly memorable note when Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, made a surprise appearance alongside Carly Pearce for a performance of the singer’s classic “9 to 5.” The vocalists joined other performers onstage for the group finale, followed by a video of Parton performing “I Will Always Love You,” creating an emotional night.

Social Media Users React To Jelly Roll's Appearance At The Tribute Show
While he stood on the legendary stage to honor one of the most popular artists in the music industry, the "Save Me" singer got to show off his latest weight loss transformation.
Jason has undergone a dramatic transformation over the past several years, losing roughly 275 pounds after getting to be around 540 pounds at his heaviest. The country star began seriously focusing on his health in 2023, changing his diet and incorporating regular exercise while working with a medical team, chef, and sports nutritionist, documenting his journey on social media. He's also been candid about the harder side of his journey, bringing up his food addiction and "setbacks." While his weight has fluctuated during the journey, he's continued working toward a healthier lifestyle and has remained open with fans about his progress.
After seeing him on stage at the Opry, there were some mixed reactions from social media users. More recently, the dad-of-two has found himself in hot water in terms of politics. Originally, he was accused of having ties to the MAGA movement and supporting Donald Trump, but then pushed back against those allegations while taking jabs at the president while hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live! last month. But despite the political comments, other users were happy to see him honoring Dolly and looking happy while doing it.
"Dolly would have loved this," commented a Facebook user.
"Looks like country," wrote another. "Still love Jelly."
"Was a great performance by all," added a fan, as another commented, "Thanks for showing up for Dolly!"
"He's amazing," wrote a fan.
