In a recent interview with CNBC’s program, Squawk Box, Jeff Bezos praised Donald Trump for being “more mature and more disciplined” this time around in comparison to his first presidency. In recent months, the Amazon founder has been accused of trying to win favor with Trump, perhaps for preferential treatment, even going so far as to pay $40M for a documentary about Melania Trump.
After his recent comments, social media hasn’t been afraid to call him out for flattery. Keep reading for more information.

Jeff Bezos Says Donald Trump Is 'Mature' And 'Disciplined'
Speaking with journalist Andrew Ross Sorkin, Bezos couldn't say enough good things about the president. "Trump has lots of good ideas, and he's been right about a lot of things," he said. "You have to give him credit where credit is due."
Trump is currently facing record-low approval ratings among voters, but Bezos seemingly doesn't see it that way. "I think he is a more mature, more disciplined version of himself than he was in his first term," he added.
Many viewers saw this as a blatant attempt at flattery, something Bezos has been accused of many times before. Within the last year, Amazon spent over $75M on the production and promotion of Melania's documentary. Coincidence? Likely not.

Social Media Reactions
Across social media platforms, users alternated between reactions of disbelief and exasperation to Jeff Bezos' Trump comments, leaving comments like, "What world is he living in?" and "No way he believes that to be true" on Instagram and TikTok.
"What about the dementia??" asked another user.
"Gaslighting, greed, and power pursuit," said the next. "The rest is BS."
"What obvious nonsense," said another. "Is the 'mature Trump' in the room with us? Because I see and hear tantrums daily."
"Trump falls asleep, can't speak intelligently, and looks like a ridiculous orange clown, but sure, Bezos, jump on that bandwagon," one tweet reads.
"To be fair Trump's brain has matured," a final user joked. "In the same way a Brie cheese matures into a velvety goo."
