Hillary Clinton is making headlines after appearing on High Stakes, a limited series hosted by journalist Kara Swisher and the former secretary of state. The series examines some of the year’s most consequential races, the country’s biggest issues, and the key questions facing voters ahead of the midterm elections.

During the conversation, Clinton also weighed in on why President Donald Trump appears to favor a particular look when selecting White House press secretaries, a topic that has recently sparked discussion online following Katie Zachariah‘s brief stint in the role.

The wife of Bill Clinton also received praise for her appearance on the show, wearing a striking hot-pink blazer that caught viewers’ attention. Fans complimented her look, with one writing, “Sounding and looking great.” Another commented, “Big smile listening to Hillary let her hair down and showing her expertise! LOVE HER!! BOSS LADY!!”

Hillary Clinton Looks 'Radiant' In New Podcast Show

“Love HRC's outfit!” another person wrote under the YouTube comments section, while someone else added, “She looks radiant!”

Toward the end of the episode, Swisher brought up Zachariah's first press briefing, which drew criticism after she reportedly confused her husband with the president and struggled to answer questions. Swisher asked Clinton for her thoughts on the situation.

“I think they have a certain look in mind, a certain type, and that's how they choose. It doesn't really matter to them whether they can do the job or whether they can answer questions, as long as they have a certain look. And I hate saying that, because it's, you know, really unfortunate that that's where we are,” Clinton said.

She also referenced Zachariah's reported support for the Pizzagate conspiracy theory, adding, “She was, as I recall, a big Pizzagate proponent, and she would be disqualified in any other administration, Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Green, Working Families, you name it. Nobody else would hire somebody with that kind of set of views that are disqualifying. So, I don't know. We'll see how this one plays out.”

Swisher then asked why Trump continues to select people who fit this particular profile. Clinton offered a blunt response.

“Because he likes the way they look. I mean, he's pretty obvious about that,” she said, before referring to Trump's reported comments about a male candidate's anatomy.

Hillary Says Donald Trump Has An 'Obsession' With 'How People Look'

“He has an obsession with how people look, and he wants everybody—that's why they all go get plastic surgery, women and men alike, that's why they wear the shoes that he gives them, even though they don't fit their feet. I mean, it's a crazy cult, Kara. This is not…I can't really compare it to any other administration. I can't answer the question because I don't know of any other administration, literally in American history, that's been this weird,” Clinton continued.

Her remarks come amid scrutiny surrounding Zachariah's short tenure as White House press secretary. She was appointed to the position on October 9 and held her first press briefing on Tuesday, October 13. The briefing reportedly lasted about 15 minutes, during which she was seen frequently looking down at her notes, stumbling over her words, and struggling to answer some questions.

Her performance also prompted questions online about her professional background. Zachariah replaced Karoline Leavitt, who reportedly stepped away from the role at the end of August to prioritize her family.

As of October 16, President Trump had not officially named a permanent replacement for Zachariah as White House press secretary.
