There have been many controversial shoe trends that have come and gone over the years – and we think the ‘pig’s hoof’ trend might be one of the most head-scratching!

The pig’s hoof shoe trend refers to Valentino’s open-toe ‘Révélé’ suede pumps, which look exactly like what they say they look like – pig’s hooves, indeed – and they’ll set you back $1,100 if you actually want to buy them! And if you like following A-list-approved trends, you may want to, as they already have fashionista Hailey Bieber‘s stamp of approval!

Hailey Bieber Steps Out In Valentino's Controversial 'Pig's Hoof' Shoes

The billionaire Rhode mogul stepped out in the internet-dividing shoes during a Rhode promo event back in February.

She wore a figure-hugging green mini dress by Valentino, featuring shoulder pads, long sleeves, a high neck, and an intricate floral embroidered pattern.

The mom-of-one accessorized with a small silver bag, black sunglasses, and the fashion house's controversial pumps, which are still causing a stir months later despite remaining a big hit with other A-listers. Tyla is another fan of the trend, as she wore a pair on the Met Gala red carpet just last month!

Internet Reactions

The internet has unsurprisingly had plenty to say about the shoes. "Hideous, and ridiculous price!" exclaimed one Instagram user on a New York Post picture of the 'pig's hoof' pumps. "Ugly shoes! Why would you wear these?" asked a second.

"Shoes that make their feet look like hooves. They're not even trying to hide it anymore," quipped a third, as a fourth said the shoes were "so ridiculous." "I'd rather go barefoot," claimed a fifth, followed by the crying laughing emoji.

"Hard no," criticized a sixth. "Don't we have enough to deal with?" asked a seventh. "Fashion is a joke sometimes," declared an eighth, as other people called them "gross," "demonic," "disgusting," and "awful," among other things.
