Apple Martin is only a few weeks into her new post-grad life, but has already secured both a magazine cover spread with Chloé and, according to insiders, a role in a Nancy Meyers’ upcoming film. Apple Martin Branded ‘Nepo Baby’ For Securing Movie Role

The 22-year-old graduated from Vanderbilt earlier this month, but somehow, that’s not the most impressive thing that’s happened to her this month! Following her spread with Chloé, Apple is now the subject of headlines for her upcoming role in Nancy Meyers’ new film.

Meyers’ semi-autobiographical comedy already has a star-studded cast, with Tony Hale, Beverly D’Angelo, Penélope Cruz, Kieran Culkin, Erin Doherty, Jude Law, and Owen Wilson. Though nearly all details have been kept under wraps, in March 2023 Meters said the film is “about a group of people making a film and the magic and mystery of what we do.” This will be Meyers’ first film since her 2015 hit The Intern, and Apple’s first feature film.

Social Media Reactions

Across social media platforms, many critics took issue with Apple landing such a high profile role for her very first out of college, a feat that takes actors and actresses without famous parents nearly a lifetime to achieve. “Lands a role?” one person questioned on Instagram. “Really? Handed a role.”

“Must be nice getting work because your mom is famous,” another person agreed.

“So tired of these nepo kids,” a third person wrote. “I have much more respect for the actors who waited tables and didn’t have famous parents to call Nancy Meyers on speed dial.”

“Third generation nepotism at its best,” added the next.

“Another nepo with no acting experience taking away from the real actors,” said another.

“Why are people so invested in nepo babies?” questioned one person.

“Nepo handed a role,” a final person posted. “No offense, its so obvious no real talent.”
