Emily Blunt, like most members of the Devil Wears Prada 2 cast, is in the thick of promo, stepping out for premieres and interviews. However, one of her latest interview comments got her in a bit of trouble.

The actress recently turned heads with the office siren-inspired look she wore for her and her fellow castmate’s interview at SiriusXM in New York City last week. Her gray vest and matching trousers fit the fashion-themed movie perfectly, but she was later slammed on social media this week for what she said during a new interview based on the movie. It seems that Emily hit a nerve by making a comment people found insensitive in today’s economy and job market – read more about her outfit and controversial interview below.

Emily Blunt Steps Out In A Gray Vest & Matching Trousers For ‘Devil Wears Prada 2’ Promo

The British actress is back in the spotlight following her successful awards circuit over the last year, as she’s promoting The Devil Wears Prada 2, the sequel to the iconic 2003 fashion industry film starring her, Anne Hathaway, and Meryl Streep. Reprising her character 20 years later, Emily and the rest of her castmates are proving they’ve ‘still got it’ by attending red carpet events and press interviews in dapper outfits.

Last week, alongside some of her co-stars, the famous mom-of-two stepped out in a charcoal gray vest and matching baggy trousers with a cinched waist. Underneath the vest, which had a large bow on one shoulder, she wore a simple light blue button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up. Her stylish pants were so long that it was nearly impossible to see her shoes, but she accessorized with some simple silver jewelry and left her auburn locks down and curled.

Fans Slam Emily After She Says Women Should 'Quit' Their Jobs In A New Interview

Following her SiriusXM and trendy New York appearances, the Quiet Place star ended up causing a stir online and received some backlash after what she said in a later interview with Betches. An interviewer for the pop culture media outlet asked Emily if she happened to have any advice for women in the world who hate their current jobs, which is a more sensitive subject right now, given the growing pessimism surrounding America's job market, the economy, and more.

"Quit," she said, slightly muttering under her breath. "No."

Emily then laughed and said, "Just find something that you deeply want to do. Even if you're earning no money, as long as you love it, you'll be happy."

Though she might've had good intentions, YouTube users and other social media users began slamming her on various platforms, expressing that they thought her job advice was "awful" and "tone deaf" due to the state of the world.

"Emily Blunt really should know better than being this tone deaf," added an X user. "Can rich celebrities earning millions please stop preaching to the rest of us about how unimportant money is. It's insulting."

"She's not wrong, but passion without stability is a luxury most people don't have," responded a user, as another called it "genuinely terrible advice."
