Donald Trump Brags About Melania Trump's Documentary During Recent Speech

There's been a lot to talk about over the last few months involving President Trump's second term as president and those who make up his current administration. However, not long ago, it was the First Lady, Melania, who was making a lot of headlines.

Social media users and film enthusiasts were buzzing earlier this year when Melania, a documentary based on the life of the first lady and her preparations for the start of her husband's second term in the White House, was released on January 30th. It didn't take long for the film to receive a lot of backlash, but the Apprentice star has been hyping it up ever since it premiered.

During the House Republicans' annual policy retreat, Trump took a pause from talking about his administration's policies, goals, and achievements to boast about his wife and the documentary's performance.

"I went home and told our great first lady who's now a movie star," he said. "She's got the biggest… Can you believe this? That movie was hot, and it is hot. She became a movie star. It was a good movie."

Social Media Slams Donald Trump After He Says Melania's Movie Is 'Number One'

Once the documentary was released into theaters, as well as onto streaming platforms at the start of last month, many folks had their eyes on the ratings as well as its box office performance. Though it might've had a somewhat strong opening weekend, box office sales quickly plummeted, and many entertainment outlets consider it a box office "failure," having only made around $16M against its $40M budget.

Still, once it hit streaming platforms, it was a different story, as the film made it onto Amazon Prime's Top 10 pieces of content. However, many find that information irrelevant, considering its poor box office performance. That didn't stop the 79-year-old from doing some more bragging last month.

"She has a very successful movie out right now, like number one," he added. "Can you believe this? Big movie star. I always say it's trouble, because I always say there's not room in one family for two stars. I told her that we can't have two stars in one family."

The president's comments sent some social media users and film buffs reeling on platforms like Instagram.

"They are both dreaming and living in a dream world," commented a user.

"Worst movie ever," noted another.

"All he does is lie!" wrote a critic, as another commented, "Donald Trump is delusional."
