Donald Trump Says Karoline Leavitt Is Doing A 'Terrible Job' During New Press Interview
There have been a lot of notable figures who have come and gone in the first and current Trump administration, and more recently, one of them is Karoline Leavitt, his current White House Press Secretary.
Already making her mark as the youngest person to ever hold the prestigious position, Karoline quickly became famous with her dedication to the president and her public arguments and clapbacks against reporters during briefings. Over the last few months, the Apprentice star has praised her and even made comments about her beauty. However, he recently said something that had a totally different vibe.
During an interview with the press from inside the Oval Office, Trump began talking about some "bad publicity" his administration had been receiving while the press and the secretary herself were in the room.
"I got 93% bad publicity, some people say 97, but between 93 and 97," he said. "A person that gets 97% of bad … maybe Karoline's doing a poor job, I don't know. You're doing a terrible job."
Social Media Reacts To Trump's Comments
After telling the 28-year-old about her work and that she was doing "a terrible job," the president then asked the room, "Shall we keep her? I think we'll keep her."
Even though the 79-year-old might've been joking with the press, his harsh comments still struck a nerve with people, especially given that he had previously praised the mom-of-one in the past. On social media, users fired back at him, not necessarily defending Karoline, but writing about how interesting it was that he changed his tune.
"A normal person would walk out [and] resign," commented an X user.
"You wouldn't know if he's joking," responded another.
"He will eventually turn on her, just like all the others," wrote a user. "A narcissist has no loyalty to anyone at all. The only loyalty is to narcissistic supply."
