Donald Trump Is Spotted With Makeup On His Hands At The NATO Summit

President Donald Trump's appearance at last week's NATO summit sparked further discussion online after photographers and media representatives got close-up images of what appeared to be bruising on the back of his right hand, which was partially concealed with makeup.

The 2026 NATO Summit recently concluded, taking place in Ankara, Türkiye, on July 7th-8th. It was hosted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Beştepe Presidential Complex and chaired by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. On the first day, July 7th, President Trump sat beside President Erdoğan, and photographers took high-quality images that later went viral due to a few that captured something notable with his hands.

In the pictures, the 80-year-old's right hand had what looked like a large, dark bruise on it that had been covered with flesh-colored foundation or concealer in an attempt to hide it from the press. The mark was similar to ones that have been seen on his hands on multiple occasions over the past two years.

White House Claims President Trump Is In Good Health As Concerns Are Raised

Seeing bruising on the Apprentice star's hand isn't necessarily a big surprise to those who have been keeping up with his career and presidency over the last two years, as the bruises have popped up on several occasions, making waves online.

For instance, he had visible bruises during his Freedom 250 UFC fighting event at the White House in June, some during his campaign for his second term, and more when he met with the French President Emmanuel Macron in February 2025, where he addressed the bruising and stated it had happened due to "shaking hands with thousands of people."

Throughout the phases of bruising, White House representatives, like Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt and others, have denied that the president has any health issues that are of grave concern.

"President Trump is the sharpest, most accessible, and energetic president in American history," White House spokesperson Davis Ingle told The Independent. "The President is a man of the people, and he meets more Americans and shakes their hands on a daily basis than any other President in history."
