Demi Moore has been turning heads in Cannes with her glamorous fashion moments, but she took things to another level on Thursday when she debuted a dramatic new hairstyle on the red carpet.
On May 21, The Substance star attended the premiere of La Bola Negra wearing a stunning strapless navy blue gown by Self-Portrait. The elegant dress featured a structured bodice, a floor-length skirt, and an oversized ruched bow wrapped around her waist that created a voluminous silhouette. A sweeping train and statement necklace added even more drama to the sophisticated red carpet look.

Demi Moore Stuns With Her New Hair Transformation
However, it was Moore’s hair transformation that really caught fans’ attention. The actress, who is famous for her ultra-long dark locks, switched things up with a wavy long bob styled in a deep side part, giving her a fresh and modern look for spring.
Fans quickly flooded Instagram with reactions to the new hairstyle. “Love the shorter hair,” one person commented. Another wrote, “I actually love her hair long.” Someone else added, “Reminds me of Monica from Friends.”
Other fans praised how flattering the shorter style looked on the actress. “She has always been able to pull off shorter hair (Ghost etc) her features are very delicate and are highlighted by less hair. With too much length it draws the eye away from her features,” one user shared. Another commented, “Loving the short but she’s beautiful both ways.”
Additional reactions included, “Demi has always looked best with shorter hair,” “I like both. Long and short,” and “Well she fooled us not long ago with a wig so this might be one too. Wigs are awesome cuz you can switch it up daily!”

Demi Moore Gets Candid On Having Long Hair
The mom of three recently became the new global brand ambassador for Kérastase and opened up about her famously iconic hair—whether she’s wearing it long or short.
“There’s a real freedom in letting your hair simply be itself and allowing it to tell your story. That, to me, is what beauty is all about — being authentic and embracing who you are,” Moore shared with People.
The 63-year-old also explained that her relationship with her hair has evolved over time. “As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become more thoughtful about how I care for it. Partnering with a brand that I already use felt natural,” she continued. “It’s iconic, high quality, and aligned with where I am in my hair journey. It isn't just about repair, it's about care that creates longevity.”
When she’s not working, Moore says she prefers to keep things simple and avoid excessive styling. “When I am not working, I keep styling minimal and heat low. And, with long hair, conditioning is essential. Weekly, I treat it with Chronologiste Masque Intense.”
Still, despite her recent short hair moment in Cannes, it sounds like Demi isn’t planning to abandon her signature ultra-long locks anytime soon. “It feels most like me,” she said. “Being able to change my look with wigs and pieces feeds my need for change but at the end of the day I love taking it down seeing my hair fall past my waist. It’s like coming home.”
